4/2/2026 9:05am Nashville hot chicken might be my favorite regional food, your wife picked a good gig. I'm gonna try out the magnotal & dubnital on the tallboy this year, annoyingly reviews have been hard to find - NSMB have articles about the mag & trinotal but I'm thinking the testing conditions were not very representative of most places in the US. It's still digging season around here so it's gonna be a bit before I get some miles on them.

3/23/2026 4:33pm I’ve married a DB8 caliper to a Shimano XT lever. Seems to be holding oil… But will it work well? Or will I be killed? It’s only the front that I’ve made this frankenbrake with as the caliper was weeping on the shimanos. Haven’t yet bedded it in but it has a much more mushy feel to it than shimano. For those in the UK you can get a set of db8s for £35 from banana industries.

3/19/2026 5:48pm The new air shaft and dampers are backwards compatible for 40 - a new air spring/damper will take some different setup guidance than on the new fork due to air volume changes with the new chassis so "suggested settings" may not apply. If you are ever confused by what Model Year your product is you can look it up the serial number on tech.ridefox.com. Your gold fork would be considered Model Year 25 (Calendar Year 2024).

3/19/2026 10:55am Honestly, the Reya is the first XC bike that I really, really want to try as a 6'3" individual. I feel like that jack nichelson nodding meme as I work my way down the geo chart on the XL. Edit: Can we also agree that peak bike industrial design is a straight top tube that aligns directly with the seat tube... connecting the top of the head tube to the rear axle with an un-interrupted straight line?

3/19/2026 8:54am No, look at the bridge with the topology optimized arch. Finally a damper that "sits higher in the travel", never heard of that before. Probably should end up at full lockout with how many times the iterations sat higher in the travel than the ones before

3/19/2026 6:17am I'm confused. If people describe me as a salty person, does that help or hurt my hydration levels on a ride?

3/18/2026 4:33pm Coming from the PNW and never seeing running water on a long ride in SoCal has been a real adjustment, and it means I have to carry way more water on my person, or spend a lot of time looking at maps to figure out where all the stores and water fountains are, or both. I miss creeks. And shade. And overcast days. Don't ever leave. Stay there as long as you can, Cam. AS LONG AS YOU CAN.

3/18/2026 11:11am Considering it only has a spot for one water bottle it makes total sense for it to have internal storage. I don't do a single ride without 750ml of water in my frame storage. It's literally the ideal spot to add that type of weight for the bike's handling. It's very freeing to do a 3hr ride with no pack. Most other XC/DC bikes have a spot for a 2nd bottle so the weight is already there (in a worse spot) if you're on a big ride. It's wild to me how many people have gaslighted themselves into believing that...

3/18/2026 5:58am The post itself is unchanged. They just changed the battery charger from micro-usb to usb-c. Good riddance. "B2 generation changed from Micro-USB charger to USB-C charger included. No change to the seatpost itself." Source (page 6) https://www.sram.com/globalassets/document-hierarchy/spare-parts/spare-…

3/16/2026 2:35pm @sprungmass pretty much nailed it. I have 2 bikes in my rotation that have ochains and just recently tried a deg-df kit in the only deg dt350 hub I have in my families fleet of bikes. The degdf kit is 90% as good imo. I prefer the ochain over the degdf, but the ochain is a pain, maintenance heavy, physically heavy, has chainring limitations etc etc. As is noted, the deg-df will bottom out with a hard clank in certain situations. In practice, this only happens rarely and 9/10, it happens because the user is pedaling squares like a muppet...

3/16/2026 12:18pm Other than the engagement feel, really can't a difference between both when it comes to descending. They both mitigate pedal kickback and let your suspension work more freely. If you have a DEG hub then get the DF kit. If you are in the market for a new wheelset with DEG DF then Reserve wheels is a killer cost effective...
