Hunting around and found this - https://www.cyclerynorthside.com.au/2026-rockshox-reverb-axs-seat-post… - although the picture is original it lists 150, 175 and 200mm drop options..

I didn't know where else to post this but it kept bothering me and was wondering if anyone else has encountered it (and it's Tech/Rumour adjacent). There is a new YouTube ad for Slack that focusses on Ari Bikes, but one of the first shots of in the ad shows a GT bike in a workstand. Tin foil hat enaged...

Digit Bikes Liked a reply to forum topic Can You Fine-Tune Frame Stiffness With Just Bolt-On Bridges?

"Is this unique to the scenario of a machined chainstay, or would the same trend be seen from a tube stay?" @Masjo - Absolutely it's significant on tube/welded structures. About 15 years there was a trend to make hardtales and road bikes without chainstay bridges, it made bikes worse regarding stiffness, strength, weight, having a place to mount a fender, and ease of manufacture (chain stays are often joined by the bridge as a sub'assy, then welded to the bottom bracket); the advantages were mostly fashion and sometimes mud clearance.

I think stiffness-tuning makes sense on MTBs but I think for some companies it would come down to the question of what the purpose of these are. For an aluminum-only company like Commencal it makes sense: your competitors are essentially offering tuning via carbon models, and with removable bridges you can do that as easily (or easier) than the flip...
We’ve reached a point where bike geometry is pretty dialed for most rider sizes. Reach and chainstay lengths adjust, and brands like Cannondale even implement size-specific kinematics. The next frontier in frame chassis design seems to be ensuring that both large and small riders experience the right frame compliance for their weight and, beyond that, that every rider has a bike that behaves to their preference. Some riders want to plow, others need the chatter to be calmed down, and some just want to pop and play and have an exhilarating ride on their local blue trail, like a track...

For those who don't want to read / in case the photos get pulled: SRAM Transmission (non AXS aka cable-actuated). Also, tire pressure management system? Wonder if that's just a pressure monitor like a TireWiz or something that can actually change pressures (which could be cool). It comes on all levels so I would assume it's just a built-in monitor...

Interesting to see MS and Intense both on Gates seeing as they just split. Originally I thought that was the reason they split(MS wanting to race a belt/gearbox) but I guess there was something else.

One thing that this made me think of with respect to Rocky was their desire to make their own e-MTB motor/battery and not take an off-the-shelf model from Shimano, Bosch, or others. I thought I remember this being a thing, though I see they license the unit from another Canadian company called Dyname who seem to only supply Rocky. Was...

Almost seems like there are two or three tiers of tires. Thanks for doing this interesting test! I'd love to see something similar for trail or 'downcountry' tires too

so I read through the actual published study (link here for anyone interested: https://www.liebertpub.com/doi/10.1089/neur.2024.0103 ). As someone who works in a medicine adjacent field that is also a experienced cyclist, I found one surprising omission in the study - that there was no data on the experience level of those who experienced spinal injuries (especially given the inclusion of other population data - gender, age, marital status, employment). I get it from a medical perspective (an injury is an injury), but from a cycling perspective I think it would be beneficial to understand whether or not the injuries are occurring...

Just some interesting surface level things to note from the paper being referenced: that study looks at the years 2008-2024, but a very similar study was done by the same author that looked at injuries between 1995 and 2007. There were more injuries in the second time period than the first (43 vs 56), with more motor complete injuries (e.g...

It seems pretty likely that Shimano will have 1x wireless coming later this year - they pretty much confirmed that at the GRX Di2 launch (where there was only 2x available). The last gen versions of GRX 1x were compatible with MTB cassettes, and the current limitation (I believe) is that Di2 is coordinated through the front derailleur, not the...

SRAM indicates it does not work, my angle grinder believes otherwise. Grinding non-critical centering material off a UDH dropout provided required clearance between the smallest cog and dropout. Shifts great - especially improved shifting to harder gears and under load. X0 (XS-1295) cassette, XX t-type chain, XX1 Eagle mechanical shifter and derailleur.
