8/20/2026 11:24am The internal routing via headtube badge is pretty good looking. Could use some small tabs for an externally routed brake cable though.

8/10/2026 10:59am 2nd the Ion Arcon LT pad. Love their knee pads, and the elbow pad I also got seems just as spot on. Can't say much for fit as everyons arms are different, but will say the knee pad sleeve has held up reallllll well for almost 2 years of use without any significant sliding issues.

8/6/2026 10:54am Ion Acorn LT for elbow and K-Pact SQ for the knees. Zero shifting and CE level 2. I wouldn't do all day xc rides in them, but they breathe really good and are comfortable enough for 3-4 hour pedal adventures but have the protection to give me some piece of mind racing DH. Was on leatt's before and I hated the fit, and lack of side coverage of the knee. One crash earlier this year resulted in the pad slipping and I hit a nerve in my elbow pretty good. Still get some pain during certain movements, bought the ION's...

8/6/2026 9:02am Just felt some oak levers yesterday for the first time, felt good. Didn't get to ride them, but bike shop employee was into them on some shimano xt's. I mmeteet the folks from Oak Components at Sea Otter and they seemed like good people. Thats all I got.

Wild throwback! I remember being so star struck that we were shuttling with Semenuk. He was as cool and mellow as imagined, and about twice as fast on a DH bike as expected. That day was definitely a core memory for me. I always wonder if Brandon even remembers spending a day riding some meh trails with a bunch of downhill groms that were riding way too hard to try and impress him lol

7/21/2026 9:11am As someone who owns multiple Singlespeeds, I wouldn’t even pay that much. I’m currently running a SRAM DH derailleur as a tensioner on my SS epic evo.

7/20/2026 10:53am I was really hoping we'd see that with the launch of the Demo 11. Something like a modern day HammerSchmidt. If I had a feeling a third party may have to get involved.

7/13/2026 10:28am I would assume that this derailleur does not have the new stiffer springs in it? Would like to hear a back to back comparison with the new springs.

6/29/2026 10:25am In my observation no, nobody stands up while climbing. I came from the old school Kirt Voreis school of climbing, which says to stand up all the time to train your descending muscles. Plus I spent a ton of time on singlespeeds, because it reinforced the Voreis approach, and because it's a fun challenge in a bizarre way, but that puts you and I in a very small camp. Most people on road bikes or mountain bikes will sit 99% of the time and will pretty much only stand to descend or sprint.

6/25/2026 10:28am As far as I have read, both of these motor gear box units being presented by Gobao and Avinox are being billed as CVT (or infinite gearing) systems. CVTs are rather simple in application. You have two v-groove pullies connected by a belt and the pullies are split in half down lowest point (center) in the same direction of the belt. You then use a series of clutches (in cars, there are other ways to do this mechanically) that draws one V-groove pully together, increasing the circumference of the belt seat (effectively increasing the diameter of the pully) and decreasing...

6/24/2026 9:58am You called it a few months ago about DJI and others getting rid of the rest of the bike components (drivetrain). The new Avonix MGU with a belt... damn the future came quick.
