I donât really have any experience with how well the wheel size flip chips have worked. Are there any bikes that have done it well?

You are correct, thanks for making mention before I could catch up in this thread. On longer climbs I would take the chain off but most times I just wouldn't care to. The bigger problem was the chain length in my largest rear cog when using the lower guide, only a problem during climbing though. The system was great while descending. But I just run the ochain now instead of the lower guide because it's manages the chain whipping and is less faff.

Iâm also a big proponent of the external brake cable. But I also will happily just zip tie it to my down/top tube if you force me to make your bike uglier. Even if you include internal routing options I donât see why you canât include some tabs for external for those who want it. It canât be that much of an additional cost.

Sort of a tech rumour? Remy looks to be on an Avalanche damper in his latest video. We know Vorsprung is working on a new damper, and they had noted theyâve been testing all the other options (including Avy).

Sure, there are bikes that it is well implemented on and the geometry is preserved between the two settings - The current Ibis Ripley/Ripmo and G3 Kona Process 134/153 and Process X are all bikes that do it well.

1 day ago Off the top of my head not really. My example of a more compromised setup would be the Pivot Firebird. Incredible bike I would love to swing a leg over. But it does seem compromised in the mixed setup because of the STA and reach. Seems like everyone just runs it full 29.

What stands out most about the new Norco Torrent DH is what it isn't . It isn't trying to be the most technically complex bike on the mountain. It isn't loaded with adjustability features.
