Oak Levers vs Freedom Coast Levers

Just felt some oak levers yesterday for the first time, felt good. Didn't get to ride them, but bike shop employee was into them on some shimano xt's. I mmeteet the folks from Oak Components at Sea Otter and they seemed like good people. Thats all I got.

I have both currently and I prefer the Oak levers.  The freedom coast levers have a tighter (sharper) radius where they transition from the face of the lever up and over to the top/bottom and back.  It can and does creat hotspots when I'm doing trails that are 1-2 miles and very steep and you're constantly on the brakes.  Other then those extreme braking situations, the hot spot issue does not show up.  

The oak levers however have no such issues, have a more comfortable and eased hook to them and do add some leverage.  Basically, the oak levers are great, no notes.  I will say that the new lever profiles that were released with the b1 release are quite good.  I do not think I would upgrade from those levers to the freedom coast levers (particularly the machined/forged ones that come with maven b1 silver/ult or the b1 cam/lever upgrade kit).  

Despite the new sram levers being very good, I can still make an argument for the oak levers.

I have no comparison for you, but I do really enjoy my Oak lever on my TRPs. Quite a bit stiffer than the stock levers and nice hook. Somehow feels like they're a tiny bit more powerful, most likely the stiff lever with less flex.

What's the reason for wanting them, bling or feel?  I have Oak levers for my Mavens but went back to the stock levers with a bit of grip tape on them. The Oaks area tiny bit longer so they increase the throw. I personally prefer short throw. The Oak texture is really nice though, and they feel very solid.

Why not buy one of each?

I'm actually annoyed with two things in my life:
How much I like Mavens
How much I like Freedom coast levers vs stock. 

These two annoyances means I have 3 sets of mavens with their levers.

That's actually a common side-effect of the extra flex in the wallet... 😆

I can't speak to the maven version, but I have oak levers on my TRP DHR evo and they are great. I prefer them to the Freedom coast design.

I own a set of the oak levers on my A1s, I went to the B1 levers but bent one 90 degrees in a crash a few months ago. I'd say the upgrade from A1 to B1 was insane, but wouldn't really go out and put oak levers on a set of B1s unless you damaged your levers.

Anybody here tried the MRP Dime levers yet? I've got a set I'm testing on my Maven Base brakes right now (and I'm reserving judgement good or bad until I get more miles on them), but I'm curious if anyone else has tried them. Yes, they're obviously stiffer than the stock levers, which is nice, but my first impression was how WIDE the "contact patch" is on the brake lever under my braking finger. It feels like it's as wide as my middle phalanx is long. I measured it at 18mm, which feels like a lot.
