Want to be a carbon hater as much as the next guy, but only frame I've broken was full carbon except the chainstays, which broke. (strength where it matters amirite?) Happened on hard turning/breaking, not a big drop or harsh bottom out. I do think Atherton is onto something truly innovative with the S range. They're the only bikes that can tempt me at full price at the present moment.

if i had to guess i think it would be a little whiteface location so they can use the gondola for bike transport. steep woods and slopes, and probably the right vertical fall for the length then wanna run. you guys that have done events up there may know something i don’t though.

i think it’ll be whis, msa then lake placid. that order keeps the international border crossings at 2, and also puts lake placid on Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day weekend which is huge for autumn tourism in the US. plus, placid has XCM this coming weekend, and the event scheduled 10-12 Oct next year also has XCM.

I totally understand the hesitation. as I understand it partner firms are already being advised of staffing needs. I assume the track would be built on little WF in order to use the gondola for rider/bike uplift. that’s me guessing though. completely unrelated…have you ridden the new DH run at West yet ?

i have 2 source confirmation that Lake Placid/Wilmington will host a DH/XC double in 2025 on a newly built DH racetrack at Whiteface. i can’t say any more as far as sources etc but it’s absolutely happening.
