For what it's worth: The Specialized Chisel is still very much in production and for sale, just not in the US. They still sell it here in Europe and the rest of the world. My friends at Specialized Germany have confirmed to me that the bike is still in production and can be ordered by dealers in unlimited quantity. We can only guess, but by the looks of it, Specialized no longer considers it a (sufficiently) profitable endeavour to import one of their best-selling bikes into the US due to the effects of orange man's tariffs.

That's fair, I am not defending talking about political opinions/trolling, but politics are a factor in every aspect of our lives. To say, in a discussion of an industry that depends on global economics, that someone doesn't want any political talk is naive. The poor old lady lost her husband and was going to the lose the house. She didn't want to sell/move and the deal expired so the title company was trying to blame me as the problem. I argued with the title company and they refunded me 1k, but that was it. I just walked since it was such a sad situation and bad agent not telling me how unstable the seller was.

A few people have mentioned the biggest spots that come to mind for me: -East TN. if it wasn't clear in the broadcast, only one bike could be used on race day, riders could not switch bikes. some riders (asa, jake, mitch and others i think), trained on ebikes to get laps but used regular bikes for the race. i heard asa say "i can corner better on my frameworks," so there were definite trade offs depending on bike choice. at the test/qualifying races climbing was supposed to be scored, not sure why they decided against it for finals. the climb has to be attempted by all competitors if they want to get an overall score...

Trail BC has some pretty cheap real estate if you want to buy a 100 year old mining shack in the shadow of the smelter. Endless great ridinig all around, with a bike park too. Killer skiing Just south of there for our American friends, northern Idaho is pretty cheap. Lots of riding around Sandpoint but it's pretty expensive. Southern Quebec in general has a ton of trails. The Quebec governement is putting a lot of resources into developing trails as community ammenities and as tourism infrastructure. There's a pretty involved riding and building community in the more popular areas...
