For those who don't/ haven't listened, the OTB Podcast Whistler episode mentions rumors that the Scott DH team was potentially in some financial trouble (not paying riders, etc...) and that the Goodman Santa Cruz would switch to Devinci bikes next season and potentially add Gloria Scarsi to the roster.

Biodegradable tape exists so why don't they use that https://www.uktapes.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=UKT137RW250

I love that 1199 has a legit sense of place, a few tough pedals means its true Sea to Sky riding. Watching it you're thinking "yeah, that's Whistler." Riding there is rarely a steep rip top to bottom. It's all about linking interesting sections and slabs, often with traverses or grunts between them. Everyone, when you're in Whistler go do at least one day on the valley trails. Climb the flank or the road up to the Blackcomb trails. It'll hurt, but it'll be amazing. Mountain biking.

a few more things: Interesting that this year's Digger Award goes to the team that leaves the terrain the most untouched and interferes with the natural shape of the mountain as little as possible. These changes could be a step towards more natural freeride vibes, without the huge drops and jumps we've become used to. Or maybe it's simply because this is state land rather than private property, so they have to follow different rules. Not sure. At the top, the men and women also share a bit of terrain. It'll be interesting to see how they work around each...

Keep a look out here this weekend because I'm marshaling and sector managing all day Friday and Saturday (Sunday is for spectating). If there's enough cell service I'll try to get some quick phone photos or line choice markups posted like last year.

@sspomer @shredder_schroeder can we get a debrief podcast of your guys experience- what you saw, heard, take away, etc. I think it would be interesting to hear you guys take, being media squids (respectfully). Especially looking at Jason’s experience in Europe from when he was racing to now, what he felt. Literally everything. Plz.

Man, no one can ride like Jackson. But those slams he took this weekend, and kept getting up--sheeeesh. He's a tough kid.

If a person was going up to watch Jackson alone and left or decided not to attend because he didn’t qualify, I’m not sure that’s a person we want in the community anyway. The bike industry is in the predicament it’s in because it continually tries to appeal to fairest weather participants and fans at the detriment to the truly dedicated. A person could be disappointed Jacko wasn’t racing but if they can’t appreciate the other 30 riders who did qualify and chose not to come watch, good riddance.

After watching world cups for years it was a total treat to get to whiteness it in person. Took the gondola up and walked down the course stopping to spectate any chance we could get. What a race, what a venue and what a crowd. Hearing the roar come down the mountain with each rider was something special.

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere yet, but I noticed Szymon Godziek's Rampage prep video description: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeYWxANUXtM It's in Polish, but translated it says: "This year I decided to ride a Status 170. The decision was made because of a change in the competition rules! This year we will not have access to water hoses, so we will not be able to build huge landings for big drops. In my opinion, our lines will have more smaller features. I don't want to limit myself to a double and show a wide range of tricks. We'll see what happens!!"...

Has anyone seen the power sports dealer as bike dealer model work? It didn’t work for Husqvarna, KTM, GasGas, or Yamaha e-bikes in the US.
