You can have remote audio production (mixing, commentating, etc) and compensate for any distance / delay.

You can really tell with the delay that they're announcing off site. They're always a moment or move behind where Rob and team would explode in the moment that something happened if what they were watching. It takes the enjoyment out of it almost completely. When Gracey hit the hole in that corner and almost lost it, she's recovered and was two corners out by the time they addressed it. Same as when Vergier crashed.

Good for Luca to grab a win, perservance there for sure. Also two different American winners back to back, has that ever happened? Hell have there even been two different Americans to win one in a single season? Finally if they're going to just do the commentary in a studio somewhere can they get a team that understands the assignment...

Serious question: why are the commentators not at the race? They are clearly in a remote studio, confirmed based on where Ric was posting last night. I thought it was a little weak but gave them a pass for Korea. Now that the race is in France there is no excuse.

Just get us a photo of the newest yeti 5 bar analog bike at the taco stand and it’s not a derailment I think I’d settle for a Horst Kona at a burrito bar Or a carbon evil revolt 29 at a cake shop

I hope this spurs riders and teams to complain about the poles enough to get them thrown into the trash heap of terrible ideas forever

Looks like Yeti ended up with the YT race truck. The railing and curved awning give it away.

Hey @sspomer, can you ask Rick (politely) to get some photos of the new Fox Suspension service truck? Pinkbike had one photo of the interior that looks bewilderingly large for a "truck." Would love to get a better idea of what kind of mega-whip the mechanics are rolling around in these days.

"Speaking to the eBike riders I see on the trails here, they're all shifting to lower-priced bikes as they've realized that they can without sacrificing performance." This lines up with a hypothesis I've been thinking about for a while, which is that I think so much of the weirdness of the bike industry and bike customers (obsession with grams and weight, obsession over granular differences in tire feel and suspension tuning, and willingness to spend enormous amounts to customize and upgrade a stock bike) comes down to the weakness of the human motor and the human mind. We only generate...

YT decoy x core range launched today with avinox. the bikes are considerably cheaper than competitors. i'm asking w/o trying to judge or throw shade...isn't this what got YT into trouble in the first place? how do they sell an X0 transmission/podium-equipped bike for 8500 euro ($9900 USD) when a similarly spec'd bike from other brands is in the 14k USD range and survive? i figure "this helps them get cash," but how much cash is left over after they pay for the cost of these bikes? 2nd question - would OE brands on these bikes need to be paid...

I appreciate your perspective as a motorcycle and car nut from age 13 on. I just want to point out that one of the key difference between vehicles being overpowered and bikes being overpowered... is that when you get a speeding ticket, disorderly conduct ticket (display of power) or wreck your car, they don't close off access to the roads to everyone. They just take away your license, impound your vehicle and/or throw you in jail. There is no mechanic for that in the trail space and thus what happens is that the easy answer is to just remove the...

I’m sure this access thing is going to be different in whatever area we are talking about. Different land managers, and perspectives. Here in Southern Oregon there are E bikes everywhere. Hikers and other groups have complained about them, but the forest service and the city of Ashland don’t have the manpower or the resources to enforce any of it. Basically like trying to stop a tsunami. The amount of rogue trails that have sprung up has went nuclear. The unexpected benefit is that everybody is spread out and it has seemingly decreased conflicts. This power argument is just a...

It's hard to find the words to express how colossally the industry will almost certainly f'ck up its initial foray into financing, leasing, and such. It seem like almost certain disaster. But after the initial carnage subsides, I could see some real positives for local bike shops and, from a sustainability standpoint, not having older ebikes end up essentially discarded. It could also be an area in which the finance bros in PE could actually make a useful contribution to the industry. If I'm sure of anything, it's that between this potentiality and China, the future is bright for the...
