5/19/2026 7:02am I believe so. Seems like they have really been limping along the last few years, I knew when they cut all of their sponsored athletes and YouTubers that things were going poorly.

5/2/2026 8:50pm I think one of the largest "We're not in Kansas anymore" moments I had when I began working for a component manufacturer after years in bikes shops was when I had the insignificance of aftermarket sales explained to me. Don't get me wrong, every brand worth their salt is going to support aftermarket product bc why leave money on the table, but OE sales are king in the bike industry and ultimately OE sales drives every design decision. SRAM gets to push the convenience of full SRAM spec by limiting cross compatibility. For brands like Canyon, Specialized, etc., who are...

4/12/2026 6:13pm I spent a good chunk of last night trying to evaluate DJI's move through the lens of business and corporate strategy. While it might sound far-fetched, I genuinely believe DJI could be making a move that fundamentally changes the landscape of the e-mtb industry. A few thoughts: Amflow: I have it on good authority that Fox's number one customer is Amflow. If true, that should signal to the industry that Amflow is not a demo product. It's a company going after the likes of Specialized, Trek, Giant and other major incumbents. To add, there is nothing holding them back from...

4/1/2026 8:23pm Well, this one is NOT an April Fools' joke it seems. Fair Bicycle introduces the 6-7 Bar and Stem Technology - open for licensing.

3/26/2026 5:35pm I was shocked to hear this today, they are a framebuilding staple. I have a Chumba and a custom bike using them, I hope that someone steps in to make their sliders. I assume someone could in the same way Wheels MFG or Robert Axle Project make replacements for OEM axles and hangers. Serious blow, especially for American made.

1/31/2026 7:16pm They also were one of the last to really start discounting bikes. I was thinking about getting an older slash (non high pivot) and instead of discounting it they were selling it at full price and even made a “limited” build spec well after the new one came out. Well after the covid boom was clearly fading. I know a lot of “premium” brands really try to avoid discounting. Especially shortly after a big boom where they couldn’t keep product. But had they been much quicker to act they would’ve sold a lot more bikes before the music stopped.

1/18/2026 5:14pm I find it hard to believe that this would be an Esker, simply because the design is more complicated than what is on brand for them. A huge part of their ethos is simplicity: Every bike they sell has external cable routing. Why would they do internal routing, especially if this was a prototype or validation frame? With how much...

1/13/2026 6:00pm Trek and QBP just had layoffs (again) today. This is the third time at Trek in the last 18 months and I believe at least the second time at QBP since COVID. I just exited the bike industry myself (started a new job this week!), it’s definitely rough out there!

12/21/2025 9:59pm When I refer to "manpower" I am talking about our in-house capacity. We manufacture/assemble our posts in Taiwan in our own facilities with our own team of now 13 people. That means every single post is assembled by ourselves, not, as it is otherwise often the case, by a "partner"/factory/assembler who is contracted to do all the sourcing, manufacturing, assembly to get the product ready in the box to sell. We draw every single part, source the suppliers, have them made, get them to us and then put everything together in our own facilities with our own machines. No post...

11/18/2025 4:00pm You might have already figured this out by now but if the torque wrench you're using is one-way only, to tighten the drive side of an ISO threaded BB all you need to do is poke an extension bar through the BB shell into the BB tool from the non-drive side... Also works on UDHs etc.
