9/16/2025 5:47pm I’ve got my Wolftooth 40cc pump mounted with their inline mount to mine on my Top Fuel. It’s nice and out of the way and always on my bike, whether or not I have a hip pack.

6/18/2025 8:51pm How about Lobster or Shrimp links? Both are somewhat related to crabs and that's kind of what you look like when you ride an XC bike (hunched back to a low bar/stem. Just imagine the negative stems that will be on 32" XC race bikes... carcinization continues as Nino Schurter goes from GOAT to Lobster)

6/15/2025 5:35pm I love 29+, I've had 5 bikes set up that way, starting with an OG ECR 10+ years ago. My current #1 is a Stooge rolling on 29x3.25 and 29x3 rubber, and I've won a couple local taxes like that. It can be surprisingly fast, and if you're into building weird rigid bikes, it's a suspension cheat code. 27.5+...never got along with. Less roll over, no perceivable, to me, benefit with the smaller/lighter wheel. When I'm not on a weirdo bike, 29er all the way...I've been that way for 15 years

6/15/2025 5:35pm It will be interesting to see what will happen with hub spacing. With wheel manufacturers creating a variety of wheelsets ranging from super stiff to soft and compliant, maybe the current boost spacing will be fine. Maybe SuperBoost will actually get widespread adoption? Or 150/177 will become the norm since that exists for fat bikes. My understanding is DirtySixer is...

6/12/2025 4:12pm Tore my entire bike apart chasing a creak after checking the usual suspects. Tried everything and still couldn’t find the solution. The fix? Loosening the air can of the shock, lightly greasing the threads, and problem solved! Also had a similar instance where the UDH was not fully seated forward when tightened and would make a creaking sound when putting...

5/28/2025 7:42am Yep they use the same oil in the lowers as in the dampers on the non sealed cartridge dampers which I think is most of them now

5/28/2025 7:42am Bike packing forks usually seize up due to having copious amounts of rain on them and pushing past the seals, so even with relatively low k's or hours they will be in a rough state. Also if there is no visible leaking, there is usually a similar amoutn of oil in the lowers than when it was serviced, it will just be very degraded. In general, more oil = better and will last longer but in a lot of forks the air spring side has very little space in the lower leg and any more than the specified amount will...

5/27/2025 2:52pm Is the potential for oil from the bath to migrate into the lowers the reason Fox uses two different weights of oil between the air and damper sides?

5/27/2025 2:51pm Thanks for the responses so far! These all seem to make sense to me. I guess I should clarify that the “good amount of oil” in my buddy’s fork was what I would expect to come out of a freshly serviced fork on the damper bath side, so I don’t think anything was leaking.

5/27/2025 5:35am Short answer: yes it does matter and there are some dramatic downsides to overfilling your bath oil. There’s not a lot of room for air when a single crown fork chassis bottoms out. Don’t need to make that space even smaller.

5/26/2025 6:11pm This past weekend I helped a buddy do his lower leg service on his Fox 36 for the first time. It has been through some pretty rough wet rides and the dust wipers were very dirty but to our surprise there was a good amount of oil that poured out when we dropped the lowers. Also recently, I have heard...

1/16/2024 8:40pm I love my onyx hubs. but that bearing placement on the new KOM makes me really really happy. It’s just pleasing to know. It would be like an emotional security blanket in my heart to install that hub on any bike I plan to ride for a while. Well done. I hope it takes off. Gets licensed and there is a silent version with soft but high degree engagement how bout that tech forum huh? we all new Scott was gonna do this. It doesn’t really help that they keep doing it. I guess someone would do that eventually (put...
