Not sure why you'd want the pegs so close to the frame. Mount them wider for better handling and if wanted the best overall feel, you'd want something spring loaded that the pedals would sort of "not lean" with the same angle as the bike. The outboard pedal would stay more level the ground as you leaned the bike.

Anybody understand what I mean? Basically if you could mount a pivoting BB pointed front to back on the bike and the pegs pivot on that axis like if you stood on a balance board.

"modern tracks"? There is only one track that "might" not suit him & could be considered a pedaling track but Gwin won on it without a chain. He can definitely ...and probably will still win another World Cup

FYI...I don't think his result at Ft. Bill had as much to do with rust as it had to do with the style bike he was riding. The Nukeproof DH is a single pivot and the Mega is an FSR. They pedal completely different as systems go and when you're on flats, single pivots are HARDER to stay on. The pedal kickback wants to move you off the pins ever so slightly. Anyone not notice that his results dipped once off the multi-link bikes in DH? It's always been my theory as to why Fearon has finished 2nd so much. The Kona is a single pivot.

Thoughts from Turman, etc?

I'm guessing the verbage was poorly written and the size reference was meant for cyclocross comp only?

As I've said elsewhere, I know a lot of irrational phobia mountain bikers who are not going anywhere NEAR that place. They should strongly reconsider renaming Spider Mountain. You could name it Screaming Death Pungi Stick Poison War Memorial Bomb Shelter Mountain and scare people less.
Everything's bigger in Texas...so the spiders gotta be. :D
(Totally not serious)

What was that with your camera at the 10 minute mark? it did an old school Batman loop?
So...since everybody knows these guys talents, I'm calling stage wins here first.
Stages 1 & 2 are Sam Hill ALL THE WAY. Nobody is gonna touch in all those tight turns. Stage 3 is for the fitness & handling machine Martin Maes & Stage 4 is for the power broker and sprint beast Richie Rude

So today I checked it :D
Its 14,8 kg with cushcore front and rear. Frame Size M and the new stiffer and heavier rocker link from the E-Meta.
So its not light but its a downhill beast.

If anybody pays $1000 for a hardtail just to have your crotch beaten into happy submission for that tiny blip of efficiency, they should just pay Master Ken to demonstrate Groin Strike techniques on them and spend the other $500 on a normal hardtail. Hardtail...is hardtail. It's a triangle with a sponge on the front.

We've reached critical mass in mountain biking. Can we just stop here and go ride inexpensive, brilliantly designed and functional bikes in neutral colored clothing with a pair of $10 goggles?
No. More expensive is coming? More bells & whistles you say? Not a single cost saving quality product in the pipeline? Shocking.
But now that Hope HB160...that is the mic drop of bikes.

Probably because there isn't much in the way of a precedent for Junior women since that field at Worlds has been largely a ghost town. The podium is sometimes in danger of not having enough riders to fill all the steps

If production moved back to Mexico & South America, it might do something to improve the health and welfare of our neighbors south.

So instead of gutting the environment in foreign countries to get our excess and unnecessaries out of sight and therefore purged from our conscious thought about the harm, pollution and destruction we cause wanting more until all the toxic excess from spending sprees comes floating back across the oceans and causes us to ban straws...we gotta make our stuff here and maybe try to drown in our own squalor by maybe trying to tone it down a bit and make bikes more responsibly here.

They can just funnel the Taiwanese bikes thru Mexico- the Cartel can then get their mules to ride them thru the desert to the local bike stores.

I've not had my hands on the new versions but have been told they are way lighter. Mine haven't died but inside is a little longer than I'd like

Typically if you raced 29" wheels, you'd run the Fox 49. If you raced 27.5, you'd run a Fox 40. Sure, you can toss a 27.5 wheel on a 29" fork, but it will have a slightly different front center feel so you'd think you would also swap the fork out. So they're saying you just run a 27.5" wheel on a 29 fork and pretend nothing feels different?
I didn't look at Martin Maes' bike to see if he had a 40 or 49 on it, but they are slightly different.
