4/11/2026 7:00pm Stuff like this is why I love this forum, as a proof of concept I had a set of Reverse Components Seismic lock on grips that I used for less then a month, ended up falling in a chute and the silicone part of the grips got cut up pretty bad. Ended up tossing them into my toolbox and kind...

4/11/2026 6:44pm Simple dark horse thick grip option that I've fallen in love with this year is just cutting the core out of any old lock on grip, then sliding your favorite push on BMX grip over it. Ends up around meaty paw thickness but softer, longer lasting, cheaper to replace, and maybe more street cred?

4/9/2026 9:23pm I’m pretty sure the guy that has the I-track patent lets anyone use it as long as they put a sticker on the bike. What is bullshit about that? Genuinely curious.

4/8/2026 9:16pm Typically ESI/Wolftooth silicone grips but I wear gloves because I sweat like fking crazy. I am trying a set of thick deathgrips on my enduro bike though as getting esi/wolftooth's with the current tariff situation is straight up retarded.

4/8/2026 9:14pm I have been riding the ESI "Extra Chunky" grips for years now. They're cheap, thick, and comfortable (at least when new). The downsides are that they don't provide as much traction as more textured options, and are a bit more work to install and remove unless you have an air compressor. I may have to try some of the other options mentioned above.

4/7/2026 9:34pm oh jeez that unlocks a core memory, I am pretty sure I have a couple of NSB hanger bangers floating around in my toolbox.

4/7/2026 9:22pm Well this is interesting! However, seems like SRAM does not offer any multi-click (rapidfire) mechanical shifters (non-Transmission) anymore...

4/6/2026 10:47pm I run whatever the bike comes with and when a good enough deal comes across my radar, if it makes sense to upgrade, I do it. Enduro bike is currently z1 coil grip2 fork with a ohlins ttx2 shock Trail bike is z1 coil fork with float x shock. Picked up both Z1 coils on sale for $500 bucks each...

4/6/2026 9:07pm Surprised the second part of the promo clip was not posted: Date stamp was 04-17-2026 If the chirping birds in Cumberland this weekend are correct, should be E-Dread debut.

3/30/2026 7:35pm Park bike build, will use a long standing model name, both colorways are sick, MSRP was not bad either. 😶

3/24/2026 8:52pm Supposedly for this upcoming race season the Norco proto DH bike has undergone an "evolution", still no official word on a production version but birds be suggesting sooner rather then later though.

3/21/2026 10:00pm Yeah with shifting the BB relative to front triangle pivot points (assuming no concentric BB pivot) there’s no impact on leverage curve, which is kind of nice. The change in anti-squat would be pretty hard to notice. Anti-rise I do think would be noticeably different, but there’s a pretty wide range that people are fine riding so that’s not the biggest deal. Going the route of changing the chainstays and/or seatstays, it is possible to decrease the impact on the kinematics by moving the pivot points on the front triangle. I can’t think of a brand off the top of...

3/10/2026 6:59pm From what I have heard, Slayer is turning into an 200mm park bike with a silhouette like the current altitude. Wish they would have revived the Flatline namesake for it.

2/28/2026 11:41pm tried it once and hated it, it felt like a dhf to me which i don't like at all, especially as a 2.5, the 2.3 feels much better

2/28/2026 9:29pm Just dropping in to give the Eddy Current front some love. Grabbed a trail casing/ultra soft 2.4" on a whim and have been pleasantly surprised. Magic Mary has been my go to for a while and the Eddy seems to clean up some its short comings. It does a better job with hardpack, feels like it rolls a bit better...

2/28/2026 9:31pm 8,000+ km's on a Druid V1 and 2,000 km's on a Dreadnought V1, PNW based riding. Druid was the second XT build to land in Canada. It has had the main pivot and linkage bearings replaced twice, the bearings in rear triangle and main frame have been replaced once. Have gone through an OEM and NSB aluminum idler (on a...

2/28/2026 8:16pm So this is kind of hilarious to me because forbidden just ships a pile of parts along with a frame that isn't even put together. Having built/QC checked a lot of bikes from Transition, Ibis, Cannondale, Orbea, and Forbidden I can honestly say that the QC on the Forbidden frames are absolutely stellar, on par with Ibis carbon (Ibis alloy leaves a lot to be desired). Unfortunately, with bike brands that ship just frame and parts end up leaving a lot of their bikes "QC" impression on the skills of the builder building the bike. If your headset creeks, or...
