6/30/2026 12:34pm My guess is they’ll phase out the aluminum Reserve products to position Reserve as the premium product with a premium warranty. It would be a sneaky way to quietly stop offering a lifetime warranty/replacement on aluminum wheels too.

6/19/2026 12:35pm That one may be a homemade version, but a company called Radar Laboratories has been selling these under the name "Loob Toob" for some years. And yes, it's a combination syringe/brush intended to make grease application faster & cleaner than a traditional tub & brush.

6/15/2026 7:59am Except the haves were sent in addition to qualified riders and they were the haves because they earned the privilege thru results. It was good for fans. It was good for the broadcast. And ultimately it was fair because that’s the rules. Watch a redbull race from their last season and watch a race from this season and tell me which race day format is more entertaining. For me it was more racers, quicker pacing, and commentary that actually both informed me and captured the energy of what was happening at a very high level. Notice eso/wbd abandoned full runs...

6/14/2026 6:04pm The conventional wisdom about Shimano used to be that they moved slowly with product development but (with a few exceptions) released stuff that just worked. But the dual-spring clutchless derailleurs don't seem like they fall into that category of "just works." (Caveat: I have not ridden one myself. I'm basing this on other people's reviews.) Will be very interesting to...

6/13/2026 8:33am I fully agree with all these points. they’ve added significant steps (and costs) to the “one run to win it all” thing and they should show us. We should be seeing it.

6/13/2026 8:33am Nah it’s dumb as hell. if they want to have qualifying be such a determining factor in the series they need to pony up and film it. It won’t happen cause all they have ever done is cut budget from production since the beginning. They also need to fix format like points for q2. And they should strongly consider protection for top riders even if they did film it. Dh is best as a one run winner takes all event anyways. Qualifying should only be to remove the folk who aren’t fast enough to get a good result on race...

6/10/2026 7:35am I think it's pretty short sighted to judge a World Cup MTB event purely on whether it turns a profit over the race weekend. Very few major sporting events pay for themselves through ticket sales alone. The real value is the tourism, media exposure and long term positioning of the destination. In the case of the Whiteface event, the article notes that ORDA spent around US$860,000 while recovering less than US$300,000 directly through ticket sales and parking. It also notes that the event generated an estimated regional economic impact of around US$11 million in 2025. ORDA itself lost money, but...
