I agree- I'm also front range CO. Have been less impressed with the HR3 than others seem to be. Assegai is still king for me.

This is what worries me. I get the technical benefits of putting a kid on an ebike, but at the same time they're going to see that you don't need to put in the effort to get to the top. Just another shortcut in life that's so popular these days. Maybe if you could limit it to a certain level and not have any assist levels, only on or off, but it will still be a pain when they go to a regular bike. Which they will have to if they want to race for example. IMO it's too much...

There won't be any littering because anyone that drops a weight by accident will INSTANTLY notice the change in suspension performance

Has anyone else found the Highroller III to be absolutely terrifying on off camber dusty rocks? I was really liking how this tire was handling blown out and dusty conditions until I took it down some steep and rocky Colorado tech where you have to place the tires on the rocks instead of between them. I think Im going to switch back to and Assegai after that lol

When I saw your post about Accell Group going into insolvency, I thought Diamondback would be one of the brands listed in the insolvency agreement alongside Raleigh. I remembered Accell owning Diamondback (another brand that we've observed to be struggling mightily in this thread), but I didn't see it on the list in the Reuters or BikeBiz.com articles about the recent insolvency agreement for Accell. Turns out Accell sold Diamondback and Redline (their US businesses) way back in 2019. Even if Accell still have a Diamondback landing page on their website: This is all a surprise to me. I either...

Any questions about the DHX or updated DH casing let me know, both were my projects. In general the DHX does everything our current dry tires do, but has more capability for high load high speed conditions. I designed it to excel in the bike park oriented World Cup tracks but still not give up performance in soft or natural sections compared to current dry tires. Ideally I wanted to simply the racers’ tire choice: if it’s dry and fast- DHX, if it’s soft or mixed- HR3, if it’s wet- mud spike. The updated DH casing is pretty well explained...

I’m thinking about starting a new poll thread. It will be called “would you rather” The options will be: Would you rather take the time to actually read and learn about “ecvt’s” in regards to bikes? Orrrrrrrr…. Would you rather smash up an incandescent light bulb and smash the shards into your eyeballs? This thread is getting exhausting with gearbox nerds.

I typically use the climb switch once per ride. I like to turn it on halfway up the climb when I remember I have it and might as well use it. I tend to turn it off halfway down the descent when I’m puzzling over why my suspension isn’t working. I suspect I am not in the minority.
