5/4/2026 9:19am If they're going to have a remote studio in the UK (which sucks) that at least means they could get Brits to commentate for way cheaper than having to fly them out to a race. Rob Warner, Rachel Atherton, Gee Atherton, Brendan Fairclough, Ratboy are all right there. They all either have way more commentating skill, have raced more recently than 1200 BC, or both. Ric wasn't that bad, but was definitely not "good", and whoever the new guy is was atrocious. He just repeated what Ric said, and said "when I was racing when the wheel was first invented"...

5/4/2026 8:05am Yes and no. The amount of brake torque applied to stop a rider from a given speed to a desired speed is not the same for different weights. We are going to massively simplify here and assume everyone rides the same on the same tires, rotors, pads etc.. In the graph below the 3 horizontal lines are a gross simplification representation of the torque needed to slow a rider of that weight down. The 3 lines represent 3 styles of brakes - the black line needs a very heavy initial pull but ramps extremely quick ; the red line needs...

5/4/2026 8:00am Thank you all for the interest in our bikes and in our distribution / sales model. To give you a bit of context, we’re currently a team of 9 people at RAAW, based in Germany, and we ship worldwide directly from here. The US has actually grown into our biggest market after Germany, which is pretty wild considering that every RAAW in the US has been shipped individually from Germany. Our goal is, of course, to make the ordering process and ownership experience as easy as possible. Having stock in the US would be ideal, but that comes with a...

5/3/2026 1:24pm Basically anytime there's a lot of hardpack, especially off camber and berms. Or rolling speed, like you said.

4/30/2026 8:38pm this is every unmaintained fire trail in Australia lol. Embrace the baby heads! Listen to your downtube get dented as you fly down at Mach chicken to an impending tuck of the front wheel. The fire trail outside my door is literally this. It's scary!

4/29/2026 3:57pm If you use a power meter to follow power-based, zone-oriented training and a <32t chainring allows you to do so consistently and repeatably, you actually don't need a power meter, you need to train...in a gym? Flawless logic.

4/27/2026 8:03pm I ran the HR3 up front for most of last year and the TC is really, really similar in terms of tread. I think the TC rolls faster, but that could just be the difference in compound. The radial casing, though, is a thing. Where the HR3 always felt a little sketchy for me on rocks, the TC just goes...

4/27/2026 4:14pm So far what I’m seeing are salty dudes on forums loudly insisting they’d sooner suck a dog’s nose dry than countenance such an obvious industry-destroying gimmick as bigger wheels people who have ridden 32” bikes talking about how much grip and rollover the bikes have and wondering how to solve the packaging and geometry issues

4/27/2026 3:26pm Ok, just did a ride on the new Tacky Chan Trail Pro Softs. I used the Wolf Tooth pressure calculator as an initial start, which rounded to 29 PSI rear, 26 PSI front. (For reference, I’m 220lb with kit and have been running 24/22 PSI on Maxxis EXO+ tires this season.) Started the ride with a half hour of climbing...

4/26/2026 3:26pm I got a good ride in on the Tacky Chan Gravity Pro. These finally are the radials for me. They roll fast, brake well, dig into loose dirt, and don't squirm on hardpack or smashing berms. In the new Grav Pro casing, the radial effect seems less than when I tried the Albert or MM, but I think that's for the better. They feel kinda slightly more muted than a normal casing most of the time, but if you hit roots they conform really well rather than pinging off. Really pushing hard into berms or loose corners, they deform and...

4/24/2026 3:44pm add me to the list again, I always thought I had just a noisy EP8 motor. turns out it was my fidlock bottle just rattling this whole time after replacing it with a traditional bottle cage. 4 years it took me to figure this out lol what a dumbass.

4/22/2026 8:53am Added a couple new notches in the idiot belt recently: My Maven brakes started getting air in the levers and fouling bleeds fairly quickly. First the front, then the rear, then the front again. WTF? Wandering bite point and general ranting ensues for a bit... Further investigation reveals that I had not tightened the hose compression nut to the lever anywhere near the proper 8nm torque. I got at lest a turn and a half on each nut with the crow foot torque wrench. Fresh bleed and haven't had an issue yet this season. Ran the loose hoses for at...

4/22/2026 6:08am Hmm that's interesting, for me the pad spacer piston massage worked just fine for every set of Maven's I have ridden or owned. I don't know if it was my bleed technique or I just got lucky with my sets. At first yes that piston massage method you were referring to with 2 rotors was only really found in the forums, though I do think SRAM did a better job of documenting the pistons massage method you are referring to by displaying it in their videos last year as well as introducing that new thicker spacer in the new Pro...
