Here's a rough idea. I'm sure there are some details missing, and despite my best efforts, this rabbit hole has some twists. So you have Mark Hancock, co-founder of PACS Group, owner of 323 skilled nursing facilities in 17 states. Current net worth estimated at $2.4 billion. PACS went public on the NYSE in 2024 at $21/share, currently at ~$36.50, and Hancock reportedly still holds 35%. The chart, since IPO had some wild moments, but seems to be back on track. Obviously, a very successful entrepreneur at this stage. In April of 2024, Hancock's own PV3 Investments (later PV3 Enterprises)...

I think I know the races you’re talking about… have you tried a Gravity Carolina’s race? Newer promoter out of Charlotte, I’ve done a couple and thought he did a great job. They’re racing at Rattlesnake this weekend, then Kanuga in a couple weeks.

I'm curious about enduro racing, but being in the deep southeast the only organization consistently putting on races is the corniest fucking thing around. I kinda want nothing to do with them.

Marketing is interesting. Some of it is literally ONLY for brand/product awareness. It's an important part of creating a brand. It doesn't matter how good a product is if no one knows about it. Additionally, lots of folks in the world are the sort of folks who believe everything their brain tells them. Those folks also tend to buy the things that they think of first. If those people see a specific name come up 5 times more often than other names (perhaps because a YouTuber is posting a lot, has their videos get recommended a lot, and talks a...

There’s already been a lot of great points made in the comments above but I’ll chime in as someone who’s been on a quite modular bike for a few seasons now (Kavenz VHP). I’ll start by saying 2 things, 1. I love modularity. 2. It’s always a compromise in some way (weight, cost, kinematics, geo, packaging, etc.) To elaborate on my first point, modularity means more riders can get comfortable on a great bike. There is no shortage of options in the market, and everyone has their personal preferences. Being about to pick a bike you like/identify with for the...

Yawn. So tired of listening to marketing people that are overpaid just spew literal garbage out of their mouth no one cares dude Tetro had a little extra money and he is going to give you a paycheck. It’s so crazy then in the mountain bike world everybody announces when everybody gets a new job that pays $500 a month.

Another Montana Enduro organizer here. The short answers are yes and yes. This is exactly what the Montana Enduro Series does for the Montana Bicycle Guild: The MES raises money for MBG's trail work and trail advocacy. Every penny from the MES goes back into the nonprofit trail org. we've used this model since 2014. Putting on enduro races has helped us build and maintain some really great trails, and helped us make our community a better place to live and ride bikes. This model works if everyone has the right mentality and priorities. If those aren't aligned, it can...

The trail org I'm involved with is doing just that this spring, hosting an enduro race to encourage more involvement from our community in trail work and advocacy. We're going to try and copy a lot of the stuff Trans-Cascadia has done with trail days beforehand that allow folks to trade sweat equity for entries. To our group, an enduro...

Very cool, I love it when places with not much elevation build fun trail centers. That's what will grow the sport. I looked up some pics and info on the park, looks like the real deal for sure, it's awesome how much support the family and volunteers are putting in, that's always a huge part of the equation that seems to get overlooked. Thanks again for the overview some rad stuff in Indiana.

1) New Bike Day! These are awesome any year, but I don't buy bikes that often. (Last one was 2017.) I got a Commencal Meta V5 with Ohlins, TRP, Industry9 and Burgtec parts all over it, and it's been making me ride a lot! 2) Sedona in November. 3) New trails at Greer Ranch, near where I live. The trail angels have been active! Also, the much feared and ballyhooed homebuilder construction that was supposed to destroy most of the trails still hasn't come to pass. 4) Positive Mental Attitude. I regained some PMA last year and carried it through...

1. Making positive life changes to reduce stress. I quit a high paying job this year that was causing some pretty heavy health issues from the stress, which was scary- young kids, mortgages, and a wife in grad school isn’t cheap. It’s all worked out great though and couldn’t be happier with the decision. 2. With the career change, I...

1). Trailbuilders. Every year gotta be grateful for the gnomes making the sport possible. 2). Mt creek bike park 3). First enjoyable job since the pandemic. Been a bit of a rollercoaster to get here 4). My nephew. Long and expensive road for my sister and her husband but they have their beautiful son now. Who is getting a strider rocking horse for Christmas. 5). Mtb community, vital, local friends, randos in the lift line. Both on and off the bike y’all consistently put a smile on my face in an increasingly grimacing world. I’m certainly a bit of a...
