5/7/2026 12:47pm Thank you all for the interest in our bikes and in our distribution / sales model. To give you a bit of context, we’re currently a team of 9 people at RAAW, based in Germany, and we ship worldwide directly from here. The US has actually grown into our biggest market after Germany, which is pretty wild considering that every RAAW in the US has been shipped individually from Germany. Our goal is, of course, to make the ordering process and ownership experience as easy as possible. Having stock in the US would be ideal, but that comes with a...

4/21/2026 9:08pm I think this is as close to a „for racing purposes only“ bike we’ll get from specialized. Who is the realistic target group for this? A few age groupers, the occasional dentist and maybe some kids sponsored by their rich parents. The ones who want it will buy it anyways, other than that I see it as an engineering exercise and podium representation at the World Cup for spesh. Low production numbers, complex molds and layup, high structural requirements and engineering costs, it was never gonna be price competitive and i don’t think specialized will care about the hardtail dad...

4/9/2026 11:14pm One argument that’s been lost on me is the claim that theirs still a speed limit on the bike , so it’s ok. There’s even a comparison above to the Tesla plaid cheetah mode. My perspective is that there’s also a big difference. Yes, you can take an insanely powerful Tesla out on the roads, but that’s inherently a structured environment. There’s signs , lanes, reflectors for the edge of the road, clear sight lines, etc. So if you’re gonna go do 120 in a Tesla you have at least some chance of predicating or seeing what all the other...

3/27/2026 8:53am Unfortunately I'm an idiot, so I'll answer your question even if it is sarcastic. I found a known value that's easy to measure, the rear brake rotor. I set it to 203mm (as mentioned in a bike check from my memory) 16.2cm = 6.377 inch, rounded up however the app used rounds things and also not a perfect angle. Closest match for phone size would be a Iphone 16/17 pro max at 16.3 cm or a google pixel 9/10 at 6.3 inches. I'm going to go with the iphone 16/17 pro max. I should touch grass. I'm also either going...

1/27/2026 1:31pm Imagine you're a average user that doesn't have a workshop, the tools, the knowledge and the heatshrink to pull apart the fork, change the spring, apply heatshrink to it and put it back together. If the fork is knocking, is too soft or too stiff, you need to go to the shop. How much will it cost you to have the correct spring installed? How much to make it quiet if the shop didn't apply the additional heatshrink on their own? How much does changing pressures on an air fork cost? In the eyes of the average user, is a...

1/26/2026 12:24pm I have designed a 40mm rise, 25mm reach for 35 handlebars for my 29" modified Intense M9 not long ago😜 I do it for the love of the game, maybe we can work together on something? We can end up designing something custom and having it made there in the land of the free (?)

1/22/2026 10:04pm Absolutely 1000% you should plan to ride in Laguna Beach on your trip. If all you rode was Laguna and Santa Cruz, you'd have a great time. Everything else is bonus. I would also recommend riding "The Plunge" at Simi Valley, if you like long travel bikes and rocks.

1/21/2026 12:27pm 🚨 wall of text incoming 🚨 There's so much riding in California. To narrow it down, here's some coastal riding areas, as in, "you can see the coast from the riding area". What bike(s) are you bringing and what kind of trails do you like? From south -> north, excluding SD and Orange Country because there's a ton to ride in just those areas alone: The Santa Monica mountains have a lot to offer, basically all of it is on Trailforks. It's a very large area and it's easy to link up trails, so you can go for some really...

1/20/2026 2:07pm If starting in San Diego, Noble Canyon is a must. It is about 45 minutes east and it a fantastic rip. If you are going up the coast then riding Aliso and Laguna Beach are great with awesome views. Santa Barbara has some of the best shuttle trails around, just be ready for the rocks San Luis Obisbo has a...

12/4/2025 12:58pm Hi, Not to keep beating the dead and reanimated horse of YT but I found this interesting. So, you all might find it interesting. When the news broke of YT USA selling all their inventory to Jenson I was very curious. Who doesn’t love a great deal? Through the magic of questionable data sources and unverified LLM code generation I did some analysis of what was for sale. I heard on the internet they had something like 600+ bikes come in from the distributor? Preamble: I have no relationship with Jenson, YT, YT USA or the bike industry as a...
