Guys , I think we owe Ric and Josh an apology . With the bit of perspective we just got , I’m starting to think these two clearly have some media training and experience. 😜 Sure they are cheesy sometimes , but they can also add insight and think on their feet . Are there better announcers sure , but...

This a common straw man argument I see on this topic. It’s important to remember that anyone capable of going that fast uphill is only do so with a lifetime of skills as a foundation . Anyone in a pro xco race is likely never putting out 1500w in that race, and if the are it’s for about 5 seconds...
I completely disagree. My Murmur is horrendous with a coil shock. Even with a 23% sag setup and a can creek progressive rate spring I can bottom it out in a parking lot without ever leaving the ground . Riding it on trail , it feels great on small chatter . But bottoms out ever 15 seconds on even mild...

I know! I kept expecting it to be gone in the next rider . I think that’s what was most surprising l, they just kept showing it . It would have been pretty easy to just cut that shot short but a couple seconds for each rider . Instead , we get the gratuitous zoom in. So funny . Production...

I came here to share the delight of my inner twelve year old as a result of the gratuitous zoom in on male genitals for EVERY SINGLE RIDER. Has there ever been a more high profile dick drawing broadcast around the world ? Probably , but good on ya lads Also , I beat Asa once… to the top of...

This, 800% assist is the problem. Not 150nm or 1500 watts. If Avinox had 150 & 1500 numbers like today but only the 400% assist of Bosch . I’d be a big fan. But at 800+% that’s just not something I think moved the industry forward. And certainly doesn’t help e-bikes or regular bikes for that matter gain access to...

Thinking upgrading on my e-bike. It came with XTs, which, in their various forms have been a great brake for me over the last decade. I’ve just sorta adapted to them , and now it’s what I like . But living in a place with regular 3k to 5k foot descents and doing them on a 50lb Orbea Wild has...

I literally thought this was a frameworks slalom bike at first before I read the 32” bit. Wow that big wheel skews the perspective
Jeff all good points . I share your interest in finding closure examples. Unfortunately I think we might be asking the wrong question there . I propose the more relevant question is : what places aren’t gaining access (ebikes or regular bikes) With e-bikes being a fairly new phenomenon from a land management standpoint , they don’t clearly fit into...

I’ve said it a couple times so apologies if it’s a broken record . The problem for me isn’t 150nm, or 1500watts. It’s 800% assist . Humans fundamentally make different choices when things are easy vs. hard . I can maybe go 20mph uphill on a trail on my meat bike , but only for an instant, then I’m gassed...
I second this. I got on one and was genuinely suprised . Now I’ve got my own. ~26lbs, so pretty lean build but downhills much better then you would guess a 26lb 130-120 bike to ride . I don’t mind taking it on some pretty rowdy stuff with people on mostly bigger bikes
One argument that’s been lost on me is the claim that theirs still a speed limit on the bike , so it’s ok. There’s even a comparison above to the Tesla plaid cheetah mode. My perspective is that there’s also a big difference. Yes, you can take an insanely powerful Tesla out on the roads, but that’s inherently a structured...

Pretty exciting. We live in Durango, and just got back from Champéry world champs. Going to be fun to see that craziness at Purg and in Durango. I ride and ski up there all the time , and while it’s a little flat for skiing (nicknamed “Traversatory”) , it’s great terrain for mountain biking . Xc start line will be...

The first time I saw patrick ride was at the 1998 ABA Grands in OKC. I was absolutely blown away watching him easily take on the two legged competition and jump the doubles on the back straight away (doubles I couldn't jump). I've still got some video somewhere!
