8/15/2026 6:25am 205lbs geared up. -Albert trail radial soft front 2.5: 28 psi -Romy trail diagonal mid rear 2.4: 28 psi I run 24 front, 28 rear normally in non radial. I tried the Romy radial 2.4 front and it was noticeably more narrow than the 2.4 diagonal rear so I went back to the 2.5 albert. I'll save the radial romy...

8/10/2026 6:35am I personally have only been able to get along with a rear radial when it's the wet season and trail speeds are slow. The extra grip is nice for super slick roots/rocks. For most of the year I much prefer a standard diagonal casing in the rear. My setup: XC hardtail: no radials here Trail bike: albert radial front, romy...

7/24/2026 5:32am I've run Cannibal front and rear and cannibal front with eliminator rear (my fav). I wish they made the cannibal in grid trail casing, I'd never run a butcher again

7/14/2026 6:15am I get that but still feel like the wear on the Romy is quite fast compared to several other rear tires I've ran. I love it so much I'll keep running them as long as I can find them on sale though

7/13/2026 6:49am This was in Whistler and Western WA trails (non bike park). The Romy trail mid started ripping side knobs around 75 miles in and the gravity soft showed significant wear after 20 miles of Whistler valley trails. I ran a Tacky Chan 27.5 gravity soft rear in the bike park that looks similar wear wise after 2 bike park days...

7/10/2026 6:03am Gave the Romy another try as a rear. Gravity pro, soft casing. There is very noticeable break down on the side knobs and braking edges after one 25 mile ride; at this rate it will be completely toast in under 100 miles. Super disappointed, I won't be buying another Schwalbe at least for the rear for the foreseeable future...

6/22/2026 4:00pm Yeah, I will probably go back to specialized tires myself because I get a nice discount that brings them to about $50 a pop and had good wear characteristics on them

6/22/2026 3:42pm What kind of wear life are those of you running the new Romy getting on the rear? I've been using a 2.4 non-radial mid for around a month (maybe 150 miles) and the side knobs were already showing some wear on perhaps the third ride and then I completely ripped a side Knob Off on a ride this past weekend...

5/20/2026 11:55am Alright, need new tires for my enduro bike and Trail bike, keen to try the Schwalbe radials and looking for some advice. I'm in the greater Seattle area, mostly ride natural trails, bike parks at most 3 times a year. I prefer tires that I can ride year round and don't ride much in the wettest parts of winter. Was...

9/22/2024 7:38am I'll offer up two: 1. Mountain flow eco wax makes several plant based bike oils and cleaners that are biodegradable 2. WNDR Alpine makes a few good shirts that work great for biking made of recycled polyester and algae

8/3/2024 6:35am I've been rocking specialized tires lately. Purgatory t9 grid trail, ground control grid t7 on the hardtail; butcher t9 grid trail, eliminator t7/t9 grid gravity on the trail bike, and cannibal t9 grid gravity front and rear on the enduro/park bike. Things I would like: 1. I wish they offered the ground control in grid trail casing. It's a great...

6/1/2024 6:28am Don't forget about the Cannibal. Tread pattern wise it's their closest to an Assegai but thrives more at higher speeds than the Assegai IMO. Unfortunately only available right now in the grid gravity casing. I really loved the Conti stuff but am fully on the Spesh train until they expand their casings/compounds offerings.

5/31/2024 1:30pm What Maxxis compound/casing would you be looking to replace?

5/31/2024 12:45pm You should seriously check out the Specialized tires. I've been really pleased with them and the prices are very affordable.

5/30/2024 8:52am I would advise against it. Trail casing is only available (for now) in the hard endurance casing. I ran that briefly on the front of a mid travel bike and did not like it, grip was very poor. Soft is fine on the front for dry trail speed riding but for wetter trails or higher speeds you gotta go with...

8/8/2022 6:23pm Love the Dreadnought! I'm interested in running the same chainstay tape/silencer on my druid. Any issues with excess chain rub when in the smallest cassette cogs?

11/23/2018 7:47am Ah yes, the classic "plastic courage" argument. While I can certainly understand a newer rider getting psyched out from "having to" wear the full Ninja turtle suit to ride park, I personally feel more confident riding gnarly stuff with kneepads, elbow pads, full face on. For the record, I'm not trying to launch a discussion on when it's appropriate to...
