you don't get it, it's a freakin yeti!! 😉 plus it's finally a new highend trail/enduro bike from a major bike brand without a motor 😛

Sixfinity is the number of zeros in the price tag right?

I put some time in designing some 3D printable bar ends. Went through quite a lot of trial and error but now i'm really happy with how they turned out. Currently being tested by myself and a few local riders. So if you or someone you know owns a 3D printer, and you find it hard to justify 50 dollars for the wolf tooth ones, or you're waiting for them to restock maybe check out https://cults3d.com/:4581834 Total cost for a pair is somewhere about 5ish bucks including my file, filament, bolts and nuts. If you brake them, that's a few...

That I've lived long enough for bar ends to come back into fashion! What a time to be alive!!! At least they have improved how they look I guess?

When I spent some time running MI on a couple of my bikes a couple years ago, I found it helpful to get in tune with what adjustments produced what feeling on the bike. I think there's value to that for technically-minded everyday riders, and teams who've got someone (mechanic or rider) to look at the data and see if it matches what the rider is saying. I think one thing that Jordi is missing is that a lot of these teams don't have notebooks full of settings that they've used on each track over the years. Those that do...

Yeah I saw this also. And in this thread is definitely leaning on the side of DAQ, but there’s some people out there who don’t like it and that’s Ok. Jordi in all the Fox videos never seemed to care for Daq. It’s ok, personally I know the benefits, it helps me and my friends. I know you can get lost in it, but you can also get lost in rider feedback who doesn’t know how to explain what they are feeling. To me, data doesn’t lie.

Interesting take here from Jordy https://youtu.be/mnl9xQJF9ok?is=Aa7TLQLWLpn97NtU Seems like the Suspension Engineers don't like the teams using DAQ that much. I also noticed this... In the videos from last years worldcup you saw maybe 30% of the teams using DAQ system and this year you see pretty much 100% of them running the BYB DAQ. I feel like DAQ is almost more useable for "normal" riders that haven't the experience of a racer that know what "suspension feel" they're chasing. For example I don't know what my bike feels like at its best possible setup. For the longest time I thought...

I dont want to scare people away, but also not set them up for failure but its definitely not easy - you dont need a technical background but you need a lot of patience in the beginning g to understand what it all means. Ie making lots of changes while riding the same track and observing the difference in data. Then ride a different track with the same settings and see how it changes again - its easy to think you are seeing things in the data and get led astray, it is very powerful but it is just one...

Definitely agree about comparing data. I’ve heard there is even variance between the same systems and using different potentiometers. I’ve been working on my own app for MotionIQ data. I made the trimming of the run faster and also a page for comparing 2 runs. Trying some new things with “feedback to rider” also.

Yeah I was going to pretty much say the same things as @Treloid - both ends look pretty stiff, average position wouldn't be completely out of possibility on a WC DH bike but for enduro its very firm. And the peak speeds are definitely excessive - again a DH bike might peak around 8m/s, and very high compression speeds for enduro would be around 7. I remember Darren at Push saying somewhere the highest he has seen on a world cup was 9m/s. Rebound too - typically stiff springs with generate high rebound speeds and lower compression speeds but the...

I strongly suggest that people are very careful when comparing the numbers between different telemetry systems, especially with the homegrown ones. Relatively minor filtering/grouping/binning changes lead to very different speeds and graphs and there isn't a "true" one. For example there can be a big difference what "average" speed is, depending on how is it calculated. My app supports both...

So I spoke with one of our better local tuners and he kept mentioning the BYB position velocity graph so here it is. I am yet to understand how to properly read into it, I have been looking mostly into the Damping pyramid so far. I agree with @TheSuspensionLabNZ that the BYB traces can be very hard to read, so...

Jumping in to make a couple of points. You can't actually compare the first image to the second and reliably deduce an answer for most questions as you have said they are different trails, different riders, different suspension and surely different settings/setups, different durations and different environments. It doesn't help that the plots are different scales. These 2 images show absolutely everything different (maybe the ambient temperature was the same???), and so any difference in output could be from any difference in input. Just because something is obvious to see in the plots, doesn't mean there's an obvious reason/fix. "...

My name is Luis Arraiz, I am a frame design engineer and specialize in bicycle vehicle dynamics, kinematics and geometry design. I was the founder of K9 Industries Ltd in 2005 in the UK. I worked at CSG (now Pon) from 2015-2023 where I was responsible for the geometry, kinematics and packaging for all the full suspension bikes both analogue and e-bikes for both Cannondale and GT bikes and also several GT hardtails. I introduced the concept of size specific geometry and kinematics for Cannondale dubbed “Proportional Response”. I am now back to the UK, where I am a senior...

Credit goes to sghctoma who originally did the rotational sensors. I have ordered some linear sensors, but I don't think I can fit anything in the SC tunnel... I got tired of the cave look, so now with light mode! Also - lots of quality of live improvements for the sessions. The telemetry plots can be reordered, minimized and embedded...

few pics of the new string pot design. It ate up 1000rpm in testing and even ran at 1500 briefly. Unlike the last time however, this time the failure was friction at the string support (thanks @Primoz, worked great) causing the connecting string to break. The pot itself survived intact and tracked the theoretical path well until the failure. That's it for bench testing. We'll see how it performs in the wild.

Agreed that's an odd choice to do the built in chain guide. My personal preference is to use a bash guard only, but one that mounts to all 3 tabs for extra strength. I haven't had a dropped chain from the chainring in like 5+ years, so for me they are more trouble than they are worth. Dunno if you have ridden the new bronson, but that's a comparison i'm most interested in.

My setup is linkage driven with bearings and cheap rotational sensors ($3 each) The kinematics setup in the app then translates the angle of rotation of the sensor into shock/wheel travel. The firmware/app also support linear sensors. I have compiled extensive documentation on both the firmware architecture, hardware build and daq operation. There is another architecture document for the app...
