Jumping in to make a couple of points. You can't actually compare the first image to the second and reliably deduce an answer for most questions as you have said they are different trails, different riders, different suspension and surely different settings/setups, different durations and different environments. It doesn't help that the plots are different scales. These 2 images show...

Another DIY datalogger update. I have three main things to report, and an invitation. - The project has a build website: www.bodaqs.net has sourcing and build guides for the hardware, a user guide for the logger, and a software guide, as well as an overview of the project. - syn.bike compatibility. The logger can output files for direct upload to data.syn.bike, which is a simple, clean option that will satisfy most users. I'm still working on my own software, but that is going to take time and I don't want to reinvent the wheel (more than I have already). -...

I opened up my BYB fork sensor to clean it up - was a little easier than the AIM ones were - its a snug fit but not as tight since the screws hold it in place, so can be carefully pryed apart with a metal spudger or blade. The wipers looked pretty good, a tiny bit of dirt in there so I'll clean it out, replace the o-rings and add a tiny amount of thin super lube grease to the contact points to reduce friction and give smoother contact for the wipers. It had quite a lot of play...

My setup is linkage driven with bearings and cheap rotational sensors ($3 each) The kinematics setup in the app then translates the angle of rotation of the sensor into shock/wheel travel. The firmware/app also support linear sensors. I have compiled extensive documentation on both the firmware architecture, hardware build and daq operation. There is another architecture document for the app which explains the telemetry and kinematics calculations.

I love the DIWhy vibes from the last few pages ๐Ÿ˜ I have been working a lot on the App and the Firmware for the mast month or so. I have made a lot of progress into packaging it into end to end usable, both on desktop and mobile. Major changes Live data! Now you can stream the sensor readings from a connected DAQ in more or less real time (20-30ms delay). You can set the time on the DAQ and you can edit and replace the configuration, without dealing with memory cards and text files! You can also change...

For anyone who wants to talk specific technical details or ask questions related to hardware, processing, or component sourcing feel free to hop in the Discord here (not to replace this thread; just to prevent it getting too sidetracked on specifics). We can also set up a file sharing server or shared github if people want to collaborate.

Hey folks, thought I'd share my DIY data acquisition project. It's been about 6 months in the making (so far) and is up and running. My intention, once it's cleaned up and a few more of the wrinkles are worked out, is to open-source this. Hardware-wise, it's based on an ESP32 dev board on a custom PCB that breaks out the connectors and does some simple analog signal processing. It supports 4 analog channels and digital sensors on I2C. It has a small OLED screen and keypad, and optional handlebar-mounted switch for starting and stopping logs and marking events of...

Hi guy's I'd like to join the conversation too. I'm also in the process of creating my own DAQ system since the beginning of this year. The whole idea started because the whole story of Motion Instruments. I tried to reverse engineer the MI system to a certain degree and added my own twist to it. It currently supports just the suspension sensors, which are a linear potientiometer for the fork sensor and a magnetic rotary encoder for the rear. The whole idea of this project is to have a system that is somewhere between a shockwiz and the more...

Hello @mattattostown , Yes I confirm that with the BYB Telemetry software, it's possible to use the reverse leverage calculation (using a linear sensor). We're currently adding the integration for angle sensors too. Best, Enrico
