Bosch Gen 4. 200km? System turns off randomly after 10 minutes every time I think I've solved the issue. I'm assuming it's a faulty overheating sensor but I've had 3 Bosch techs plug in and say nothing is wrong. Haven't been able to get a warranty so It's been a nice tease for the last two years in my garage.

It's a shame that this crowd is echoing everything I've read across EMTB forums/Reddit/Insta about the Fazua, because it really does seem like the goldilocks zone of ebike motors. The Relay is the perfect ebike concept too. I think of it as "this is my shuttle bike" sometimes the shuttle is a chairlift/ truck (battery out, weight of motor at bottom making the bike eat) and sometimes the shuttle is my own legs with assist. Want to do a really long self-shuttle day? Extra battery in the truck at the shuttle pickup zone. Really hope companies don't abandon that concept...

I'll vouch for the Norco Optic Gen2. I bought one on a whim when Jenson had the frames on sale for $1400, ended up doing a budget build with some leftover parts I had from a Santa Cruz Chameleon, but after riding it I decided to fully invest in a build for it. Went on a bargain bin shopping spree about a year and a half ago and found the lightest stuff I could get a good deal on. Biggest improvement was getting a set of sub-1700g wheels for it (ENVE M630), as it made the bike feel significantly lighter...

The Spur is a pretty sweet bike and you'd fit in with everyone else in Bellingham with a TR on your headtube. If an alloy frame is desired a Norco Fluid is a pretty awesome mid travel trail bike and would be very appropriate to slap a 140mm 36 on the front of it. Its probably closer to the jack of trades category with a bias to the gravity side of things (similar to the Tallboy). There are some alloy builds for less than the sale price on a carbon Spur frame set. Its more work to strip a frame...

I spent a bunch of time demo'ing trail bikes over the last 6 months. A few impressions below, I'm 6'2" so a few of my impressions are driven off of that. -Tallboy is still the benchmark and nearly impossible to beat and the geometry has no surprises, nor weird steps between sizes. A platform that can punch above or below it's weight depending on the build you go for. A new one is coming, but it will be more of a nudge towards all mountain, yet still a trail bike. -I prefer the smuggler to the spur. The spur gets...

Pretty partial to the smuggler. Fox 36 at 140mm. float x at 130 or 140mm with a super poppy fast setup. The smiles that thing makes grossly outweighs the park bike and eeeb. Kinda wish that there was a way to make it a mullet with out having the bb/cranks too low.

Another vote for the Smuggler; super-versatile platform and I've seen weight-focused builds around 27lbs without doing anything crazy.

I mean, its what it says on the scale when I weigh it. Obviously the bike isnt super rideable with these tires - Even though I ride it on XC trails, I have flatted two rears already. So I will be swapping to something a bit burlier (forekaster rear, Dissector gen 2, both exo+ up front I think) - . I wanted to build a light bike, but if it was 12.9kg or 13.5kg I didnt really care about, as long as it rolls easy and feels nimble. The wheels are actually a bit lighter than what I stated above...

My co's Q4 and year end results came out. Tariffs gobbled up 67 million dollars from production. A pal who works in the med field had his co get taken for 175 mill due to tariffs. And I do mean taken. There is little wonder why many of our (former/soon to be former) international trading partners are looking at their neighbors and across the ponds for reliable trade partners. I'll wager that on the big brand/OEM front, survival is job 1, and that means many lines will get cratered before they get replenished.

You can draw whatever conclusions you'd like from rolling resistance lab data (since we don't generally ride MTB tires on flat steel surfaces), but this article has been linked before in this thread: https://enduro-mtb.com/en/mtb-tire-test-weight-rolling-resistance-punct… It's worth noting the following 4x Schwalbe results for rolling resistance: Tacky Chan ADDIX Soft Super Gravity 29 x 2,40 - 29.3 Watts Albert ADDIX Soft GRAVITY PRO Radial 29 x 2,40 - 36.7 Watts (incorrectly labelled as a 29x2.4, it would have been a 2.5") Tacky Chan ADDIX Ultra Soft Super Gravity 29 x 2,40 - 46.9 Watts Albert ADDIX Ultra Soft GRAVITY PRO Radial...
