11/28/2024 5:04am The difference between the 2 is that Red Bull's events are private events, organised, produced & broadcast by them. They can invite whoever they want, no one can argue otherwise. WBD are organising World Cups on behalf of the UCI, the world governing body for competitive cycling events. They should be completely neutral & the only way to be free from bias/influence is to go off points for all teams. Personal opinion... I don't agree with handing control of the highest level of a sport to a TV production company to shape it how they want. I think I might've...

11/17/2024 7:04am Actually very similar to the approach that Downamics talks about using in their Instagram post above. We recorded data from a range of different rides on varying bikes and trails. Merged the data and cleaned it up a little. We used a fast Fourier transform to order the data in a most to least occurrences fashion. Drew conclusions from this and then selected a specific trail that had a range of different speeds, features and conditions in one lap, the kind that, if you were to set up your suspension on, it would yield a solid ball park set up...

11/5/2024 4:55pm I own those Roval Traverse HD and they are actually very good! The ride quality compares to Crank Brothers Synthesis carbon wheels with different front and rear carbon layup. People usually scoff at house brand wheels but I have been very happy with the 3 sets of Rovals I have for the different bikes. DT hubs, DT spokes, good rim layup and solid warranty to back it all up. In fact I had a set of the much hyped WeAreOne Union which felt like wooden planks in comparison.

10/29/2024 6:51pm Hey biz thread subscribers, I met with Jeff about a month ago for an Inside Line to discuss the current state of things. It was a rad discussion. The podcast and its copy are below. Enjoy! I know I did. Thanks to Maxxis Tires | FOX | Jenson USA for supporting The Inside Line Today we're joined by Jeff Brines, a long-time mountain biker, Litter Mag and Vital MTB fan. He's also educated and versed in finance. He kicked off a forum thread on Vital MTB that asked " Will more companies be shutting down in the next 12-24 months?"...

10/24/2024 8:41pm Just going to leave this here...Rocky Mountain Bicycles is using the FSA system on the carbon Altitude and Instincts, and our own designed (FSA made) ZS56|66 round headsets for the alloy models. 10mm of reach adjust possible. The headset guts are just standard components: bearings, races, top caps, etc.

10/20/2024 6:09pm I think there is a lot of room for bikes to improve in the stiffness and compliance space from what I see from the racing world, but I personally don't have a good sense of it. It would be really interesting to try more and learn how much of a difference it makes. Generally, it will be very hard for people to really understand the impact of stiffness and compliance without having a bike (like the Commencal) where you can adjust seat stay bridges and things, as you will always be comparing two different frames. I also think the 'symptoms'...
