One thing they touched on in the Making up the Numbers podcast I found interesting was WB being of the mind that Rob Warner would turn casual fans away. I’ve made non-bike people sit down and watch a World Cup and they all agree that Rob brings up the engagement for them. (haven’t made them watch post WB takeover ironically) Like Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear, he’s engaging for non-car people. I was surprised at how, for the most part, the Making Up the Numbers crew were positive about the directions they’re trying to take the sport (minus a few proposed changes). Just seems that it’s the methodology and lack of communication that are really frustrating folks.

Just finished—best single DH podcast of all time. Cmon, has it all—more than makes up for BleepGate haha The little games that spin off the changes in this plan are crazy. Definitely changed my mind on 3-step podiums, I was wrong to accept them. The riders own their points going into next year but the teams own them after that? Did I hear that or am I just stoned? That’s bananas if I heard that right. So much to take in, can’t wait to read the discussions here!

Yes, however news typically isn’t broken until it’s percolated the pits a little first. They are good about not revealing sources and waiting until it’s known by enough people to not track down the leaker easily tho. Edit: PulpMX and Vital MX are a couple good examples of media that will leak, or confirm, team and tech rumors very early while maintaining their friendships in the pits and having the riders and team staff on their podcasts regularly.
