Some of the word salad gives me Office Space vibes. I genuinely like Orbea, but as a dude who obsesses over this stuff, when I read things like "Value protection," "disciplined sales plan," and "consistency with strategic principles," I sort of cringe. The company is bouncing along the bottom just like every other bicycle company that doesn't start with an "A." Things aren't getting worse, which is good. But now that there are new kids in town and margins/sales are under pressure, it looks like they are maybe pivoting to reminding us all how good Orbea is for the industry...

Still lots of Trances, Stances, Revolts, and Propels wherever you go. Not as many Reigns and Glories nowdays, but the more you look, the more you'll find. I always find my own limits way before the bike I'm riding, so Giant is A.O.K. in my book! Braaap!

I have a feeling the new Reign will use the same lower linkage setup as the new Reign Advanced E+. Hopefully the Aluxx frame is still available if that happens. I know on some other bikes with split seat tubes, they stopped making the AL version because they didn't hold up. As a bit of a Giant fanboy myself, the frame on that Reign E+ looks like a perfect version of the Maestro system, but I'm not a huge fan of longer travel bikes in carbon.

was digging around on srams website just now and came across this

Here is your difference in steering bwetween a 70mm stem and a 35mm stem with straight 800mm bars. A video to make the scribbely lines more understandable: https://photos.app.goo.gl/bYf6TE4obQUwvhJG7 As you can see, the rotation diameters are virtually same (406mm vs 401mm). That's about a 1% difference. Your hands will travel about the same amount: 212mm vs. 210mm for a 30° handlebar turn. That's less than a 1% difference. What is slightly different is, of course the the "angle of attack" from which your hand will start moving, but that is because a longer stem will stretch your upper body position...

I took a deeper look at the press photos from the new electric Reign, and it looks like Giant have completely changed their lower linkage/front triangle interface. The lower link is now one solid piece that sits between the front and rear triangles, and the seat tube is split, down by the BB. This should create a less flexxy lower link/rear end, right?

Did the maths on all the current crop of e bike batteries. They're all within ~10% energy density wise. Everyone is using the same format of cells so I suspect the DJI battery is just longer and thinner. That gives it's own challenges from a weight on bike point of view.
