The patent was never actually granted. It was issued a non-final rejection based on being an obvious combination of prior art. If you don't respond to that within a certain window the patent office considers it abandoned. So anyone that wants can have at it.

I usually do less than 5 days of chairlift each year so a full blown DH is not worth but a burly enduro bike 160mm+ can fit for rougher regular trails and the occasional chairlift/shuttle day. And a 2026 element (120/130mm 28lbs) make the darker blue/single black trails a lot of fun and still feeling relatively fresh after 1000m+ D...

I can compare the rekon, magnotal, and trinotal, but not the dubnotal as it's a bit too light for me Just as a heads up, while the trinotal looks reminiscent of the forekaster, it has much shorter knobs. In terms of overall grip/rolling resistance, its forekaster > magnotal > rekon > trinotal. I really like the center tread on the magnotal, but the sideknobs don't quite reach forekaster levels of grip

Nvidia and most chip designer companies operate based on the litography roadmap that the chipmaker have. We already know that updated 4nm, 3nm and 2nm chip are in various prototype & testing stage with planned rollout for well into 2029. So Nividia is only planning new generation based on the TSMC timeline. We will only know what the actual product...

Depending on what you want to optimize yes 105% rule can apply to mtb too if your focus is aero at multiple yaw angle. Lenzerheide Short track average speed for elite men was 30.38kph and 26.85kph for elite women, at those average speed aero can make a significant difference. https://silca.cc/en-ca/blogs/silca/part-5-tire-pressure-and-aerodynamics https://www.hambini.com/cycling-aerodynamics-wider-tires-and-rims-exami…

We'll get a lot more information on Strava in the latter half of 2026 being they've already filed their S-1 to go public (confidentially), but their success doesn't shock me, network effects are powerful (and hard to beat). For those who don't know what an S-1 is, it serves a number of purposes, most importantly (for us) forcing disclosure about the company's financials. That means we'll finally get to look under the hood and understand how profitable the company really is. For fun, here is GoPro's S-1 and here is Fox Factory's S-1 (Vital MTB is cited!). What Strava decides...

Sram already does with their Red and Force road derailleur called Orbit clutch but the single chainring XPLR version of the derailleur use their regular mech mtb clutch. There might be packaging issue with creating enough damping force ad rebound fast enough for MTB application or else I think Sram would have already done so for MTB.

I think some firms could rebrand themselves as Vibes Venturing firms or Private Vibing firms just in time for the vibe coding fade to start deflating.
