While the testing video was pretty funny, I’m really looking forward to seeing this project progress. Filament wound tubes have some definite advantages when it comes to creating an efficient structure (ie. low weight for a given stiffness and strength, and minimal voids in the layup). Not to mention a lot of flexibility in the way you can layup the strand, with possibilities of adjusting winding angles for a stiffer/flexier layup depending on frame size, etc. While Cduro now offering a few frames with similar manufacturing, they are certainly at a premium price point. To bring this back of the bicycle industry, heard a few brands are straight up asking dealer to prepay any orders they make including booking orders which is wild. Pre-Covid, net 180 and net 210 terms were common for booking orders and usually in-season reorders were often net 60 or even net 90 if you were on the highest dealer...

Chromag have that new purple frame bike thats been doing the rounds on display in the shop, freeride bike not a dh bike they said, full aluminum crab link. Looks really nice, the name was blacked out, coming out sometime in the spring.

I think some interviews with the smaller parts and accessories long time brand like Chris King, White industries, Paul Components, Velocity USA with how the Covid boom and bust was for them could be interesting and how they managed to weather the storm. I don't think it correct to assume that "Supercar money" can not be made in the Bike Industry. You can make decent money in the bike industry, then reinvest that money in something that multiplies your wealth astronomically. We live in a crazy world, where you can make insane amount of money with speculation in no time, if you are smart and/or lucky. Now, that money may not directly come from the bike industry, but I would say he could have pulled off his wealth from smart investment of money that he originally made in the bike industry. I remember CST and other tire manufacturer having no technical issue making 32 inch tires when asked during last Taipei Bike Show, the main issue is bike brand committing actual sizeable order for them and they would need to know that option from fox and rockshox are possible atleast for xc bikes.

That proto frame goes way back. I shot this photo of it in the early fall of 2023. Sorry for poor quality. The obvious heel rub and linkage swap-out (on your more current photo) shows it's seen a lot of hours. The guy riding it started working for a different bike company, so he may have offloaded this one to another industry friend. At the time, I was thinking it was maybe a Diamondback prototype that got canceled/never saw the light of day. He was fairly open with it; it was spotted at local Seattle area watering hole(s), etc.

As far as i understand it raffle are considered similarly to gambling so every state have their own legal requirements and laws surrounding raffles. Your local food pantries might have done fund raising raffles before so they might have experience with all the legal requirement so might be worthwhile to ask them or if they are part of a larger...

Going off @ therock911's cryptic comment to check out the headtube cable insertion for clues, it doesn't look like a Yeti SB120 or new Scott Gambler, but it does look pretty close to a new Norco Sight. I chose the newest bikes I could think of from each brand as a gauge of how they're doing cable routing right now:
