While the testing video was pretty funny, I’m really looking forward to seeing this project progress.

Filament wound tubes have some definite advantages when it comes to creating an efficient structure (ie. low weight for a given stiffness and strength, and minimal voids in the layup). Not to mention a lot of flexibility in the way you can layup the strand, with possibilities of adjusting winding angles for a stiffer/flexier layup depending on frame size, etc. While Cduro now offering a few frames with similar manufacturing, they are certainly at a premium price point. I also like that they are using cnc machined lugs, from both a cost and fatigue standpoint. I think if they are able to pull off the project as projected (price point, weight, etc), this is going to be a fantastic addition to the market, and a really nice evolution for the VHP platform.

Framework (not Frameworks) Bicycle make road and gravel frames with filament would tubes, and cnc’d lugs. Their Instagram stories are truly a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the topic of frame manufacturing. It’s worth checking out to see more details around the behind the scenes stuff if you’re interested in this kind of thing!
