Easy to be pessimist but Sram recently bought Time pedals & Velocio. Sram pretty much left them to keep doing their own stuff. Just made a better package for when Sram sponsor a team like HTsqd for Velocio or Sram equipped world tour teams for Time Pedals.

There have been some road bike brand that tried trip wire and dimpled surface but at the end of the day, even road cycling airflow is mostly turbulent as the speed are too low for it to transition to laminar airflow where such tricks like dimpled surface or trip wire do help. Zipp still use dimpled surface on their NSW...

In my personal experience, Private equity comes with an influx of cash and a timeline of selling the company in 15-20-25 years at a profit usually by scaling up the business quickly that ideally it has doubled in size by the time the private equity is looking to sell. The issue with that for most bike companies is that means...

With they way you describe it it might be more an unbalanced front/rear rebound damping and either your rear rebound is too fast or your fork is a bit slow.

Maybe like 3-5 discussion, These are expected to be the new 9220 XTR Brake that should be released around june 5th with the new XTR Di2 wireless groupset. Similar design XT M8220 brakeset are rumored to be launched shortly after the XTR M9220. So far no info/rumors if SLX or Deore might have similar levers update at a later date.

Somebody asked about fork dampers on Vorsprung's IG last week, and they said "sure", or words to that effect. I emailed Vorsprung asking if they could make a 38 damper, and they replied that Steve has designs started, there is no guaranteed timeline, but that they can likely make one that's cost competitive vs the GRIP X2 and Charger 3.1 dampers. When I regained consciousness, I posted about it here.

yes if you go from a 20mm hubs all of them can go down to 15mm with different end cap. But quite a few native 15mm front hub are not able to to go up to 20mm because they use smaller bearing either 17 or 18mm ID bearing like the recent One Up hubset.

Hey I'm back (with Rocky). I might post a bit less here as I navigate current state of the bike industry; I've got a mountain of work to get through after being away from it all for 5 months. Thanks for the well wishes.

https://enduro-mtb.com/en/best-mtb-disc-brake-can-buy/ That is the link of the group test most people are mentioning. The decelaration test were done at Sinter testing lab so no issue of control surface or tires, weather conditions and tire pressures. Brake pads tested were both the OEM one and also tested with Sinter green organic pads. Rest was either measured or controlled. Full test procedure...

At the very least, current gravel 12 speed stuff is either XT or SLX cassette, chains and slightly modified derailleur so i don't think SLX will be completely gone in the near future.

Ha! That was actually something our engineering team did in the earliest stages of the HR3 development as a proof of concept.

Formula Matchmaker adapter has more range of rotational adjustment than Hayes or Magura but I know from personal experience that the wolftooth magura shiftmount to matchmaker adapter does work also with formula levers. Not sure if it works with Hayes but I would think so. If that doesn't work for the exact shifter placement you want than yeah thin split...

I think it all depend on what budget you consider to be best value. For some that might be sub 200$, around 350$ or more like 700$ Lets say we only talk about shifter derailleur cassette and chain For Sub 200$ Shimano Cues U6000 10 speed and Microshift Advent X are pretty much on that 200$ mark. Both derailleur have...

Michelin Enduro Rear and Specialized Eliminator (old gen) are also good option for rear tire that rolls nicely but with decent side lugs

That's a cool set up. Have you had any issues with long term durability on the Tubolito tubes? I had been running Rekons front and rear for about the last year. Honestly, not my favorite tire. I think they do everything okay and are certainly more capable all around compared to the Ardent that they essentially replaced, but they don't stand out in any one area. Switched to the Forekaster along with something new we're working on and I didn't feel like the Forekaster gave up much rolling speed compared to the Rekon, but it has waaaaaaay more traction.

Nah that looks like the current Woodsprite trail model. Regarding the intend lever, the integration of the barrel adjuster is nice and make the whole assembly look sleeker. Regarding the Garbaruk derailleur, pretty sure Sram Electronic derailleur patent is for the easily removable battery with a latch system that is interchangeable between front and rear derailleur for road groupset. This...

The season just barely started so Revel was probably sitting on it's highest level of inventory for the year and it looks likes they assemble their bikes in Carbondale, Colorado in 20k ft square HQ. a move they made in 2023-2024. Couldn't find if they owned or leased their HQ but I would assume a decent chunk of their secured...
