1/21/2026 7:06pm lol agreed. A dude that’s been hurt for 5 years, a dude that’s never won anything and a predator have more fans than the top guys/gals in the sport. At least on the pink site everyone is a homer for the kid winning the overall.

1/20/2026 7:11pm Meh, it doesn't do it for me, but experimenting is cool. My dh bike is on the big side for me and honestly I'd give the Rulezman stem a go, the BMB one might be a step too far for me though. Still, if somebody had one I could try for free I'd go for it.

1/20/2026 2:48pm I dunno, I haven't tried any of them. He certainly has a similar idea, and Reece was already using Rulezman stem. Just because he's cringey af doesn't make him wrong lol. I just thought it was an interesting video from a high level rider

1/20/2026 2:36pm Reece Wilson on the BMB Raised Reversed stem https://youtu.be/Lv2dSlxHPYA?si=9cXbgcvrMo0CXnfR Reece certainly has a bit of history with kooky setups, but pairing that stem with a large reach and chain stay certainly makes a lot more sense than just putting it on your normal bike. Not something that many people can easily test, but maybe something that if he does well...

12/15/2025 7:03pm I paused the video and I'm very confident that you are correct. Not sure if that really means much, though.

12/15/2025 3:40pm 4 bikes here, from least to most suspension travel. -Cannondale Supersix Evo road bike. It's a road bike, sometimes I like to get fit and ride fast in a bunch. -Transition Spur as an xc bike, though it's kinda downcountry, I have raced xc on it. Extremely capable bike though considering it's 120mm front and rear with xc suspension. -Transition...

6/30/2025 7:13pm Tax write off for the YouTube channel makes this more appealing? Not sure how your tax code works but I think I could get away with that here in NZ.

6/30/2025 6:38pm All fabrication done by myself in the garage. I have small benchtop mill, benchtop lathe, and an oxy-propane brazing set up. Jig is also garage made out of cold rolled steel a design copied from a number of Colorado builders that use a similar design. The first single pivot frame was build with hand files, hacksaw and a vise. No jig and no machines, just a couple of pieces of cheap aluminum angle to float the rear axle in space relative to the front end. A full size paper drawing was done to figure it all out.

6/30/2025 12:16pm Stiffness is just displacement under a given load. Steel and aluminum will have different material damping and rebound properties even when their stiffness is identical. I’m imagining the legs of an inverted fork can be thought of like a tuning fork, and axle material will change how that tuning fork sounds.

6/30/2025 12:16pm Not much to ass to the topic, but from my time in the industry A) Big bike companies ABSOLUTELY have the money to service 20 forks nicely for a launch. I wasn't at Fox but where I was we definitely made sure anything going to some media event was mint.
Fox's recent issues definitely haven't been about frame alignment. About half the new X2s came aerated from the factory. Not even gonna get into the 38. I actually believe one of the motivations behind the podium is solving the creaking CSU on the 38.

6/30/2025 12:16pm How many forks are torn down to bits / serviced per vendor in an average DH WC race? Would you not want the same mechanic(s) to do the job on all forks sent to media?

6/28/2025 9:29pm Fair enough. I haven't had a new fork in probably 4 years, but I know that before that I have absolutely had forks arrive with little to no oil bath. On full bikes, not a new fork in a box, not sure if that makes any difference.

6/28/2025 2:29pm First off, I don't think each fork has been taken apart by Jordi personally and sprinkled with fairy dust or anything, but the idea that they would spend all that money on a press camp and then just give the reviewers production line fresh, never checked forks seems wild to me. I'm not suggesting in any way that 1 in...

6/27/2025 7:25pm Moto forks have this because they have an upper bushing attached to the lowers right? So it slides in the uppers. Doing this to the podium would be purely cosmetic.

6/27/2025 7:22pm I've reviewed a few forks for print. They're absolutely given more attention as far as QC goes. One distributor ran the fork in for two days, gave it a full service, then dynoed it before handing it over to me. Joke's on them, that one broke immediately. edit to save a new comment: Mr ROBOT, i appreciate the content you're making. It's rad, you actually have a valuable perspective, and quite entertaining for techy interview stuff. Please continue.

6/27/2025 6:51pm You don't think those 20 forks have been stripped and grease/oil volumes double checked and bushing clearance/how free they run without damper and spring in place? I think Fox would be insane to spend all that money to run a press camp and not make sure that those 20 forks were the absolute best version of the product that they...
