6/29/2026 11:51pm “Physical effort and reward.” Is different for different people. In my friend group, I was the last hold out to finally get an Ebike. I was definitely snooty about them for a while until I got to try one. You know what’s great about them? Time management. As I’ve gotten older, there’s even more responsibilities. Plus I move a little slower. This thing allows me to get a solid ride in at a third of the time, and I’m still tapped at the end of it. I just can’t dedicate a whole day to a ride anymore. Not to mention...

6/29/2026 11:48pm you're just late to the party, that's all I'm just back from 2 weeks in finale ligure, i'd say on each shuttle at least half of the bikes on the trailer had a motor

6/29/2026 11:47pm Do these numbers reflect ALL bike sales or just the sale of MTBs in Germany? Their cycling infrastructure is much, much better than most NA cities and cycling is actually a safe method of transportation. Are these numbers just being skewed as people switch to urban centric E-bikes as a preferred method of transportation? Also, it would seem that trail access in America is a concern that in some areas may steer people to analog MTBs still. Locally, it does seem like a DH bike and an emtb in the trail category is becoming more popular.

6/29/2026 11:46pm Yo dawg! We put your shock inside your frame so it’s covered and we put a hole in your shock cover so your shock isn’t covered when it’s covered 🤘

6/8/2026 3:06pm That's a hot take on things. A lot of us don't care if a bike is inside the box or outside it, we just want it to be a good time. Oh, and pretty much all mountain bikers are uncool. That's fine with me, I don't really like the cool people anyway.

5/29/2026 11:57am Thats exactly the same response that the equine/hiking/hunting crowd had when mtb first started. The same from Skiers when snowboarding became a thing. “NIMBY”

5/29/2026 11:55am Then why is it fine for a 16/17 year old to buy a muscle car without years of driving experience? No one hates Ford/GM for making more powerful cars. DJI/Avinox are not like Lewis who have photocopied and the improved something. They have designed, engineered and built something from scratch and done it way batter than everyone else. Giving them all a kick in their blasé arse in the process… Bosch and Spesh have hitched their skirts up a bit but they can do better. The new 700w Avinox battery is incredible (not just another repackaged Panasonic. Complete cell and...

5/17/2026 12:54am Take it easy buddy. I’m not trying to derail the entire conversation but also think it’s allowed to have an aside now and again. There’s plenty of off topic quips that go on in this thread.

5/15/2026 12:57am Yet another DJI / Avinox / Amflow update (and correction) live from Sea Otter. When I asked about the relationship between DJI, Avinox, and Amflow, I was told they are entirely separate from one another. DJI incubated the motor program and then spun it off, branding it as Avinox. Amflow started as a proof of concept and was also spun off completely from both Avinox and DJI. They were firm in their independence from one and other. When I pointed out to the Avinox employee that we were standing in a shared tent (Amflow and Avinox were sharing Sea Otter...
