I think most WC venues run at a loss. I know Fort William was only viable due to the financial support from Visit Scotland and I beieve it's the case that many French venues that've hosted were heavily reliant on help from their local tourist board.

I once sent PVD an honest question by email about a technical drawing on his website and he answered : "W hat your asking falls into the 'that's a stupid question' category. Only a terrible person would answer a stupid question." Such a nice guy

I really think he would profit a lot from some sort of "try before you buy" model. If you've got something that's way different from the norm, but with easily perceivable benefits, this can help you get more customers. No one likes blindly shelling out 400$ for a thing with dodgy aesthetics and uncertainty as to how it feels on the trail...

Yeah the Amflow bike with carbon frame and less burlier build is practically 50lbs so there's no way this bike is under 50.

Their alloy enduro bike is around 17.5 kg, so 2.5kg motor + 3.7kg + e system components should be around 24.5 kg / 53 lbs +-

fwiw, last year was the first year we ever had to pay to get lawlor his creds at a world cup. $3k for the races we attended. it's not a budget killer for us, but $3k goes along way on other projects for us.

If designed to the same max load, a 35 mm bar is approximately 10% stiffer. The required cross sectional area of the 35 mm bar is also smaller, so it would be lighter. Below is an example where the bar is evaluated as a basic cantilevered beam where the length is 400 mm and the load is 450 N. r1 and r2 correspond to the 35 mm bar and r3 and r4 correspond to the 31.8 mm bar.
