11/23/2025 1:43am The whole thing just seems so pretentious to me. It’s a bike, not a lifestyle brand. But I guess that’s why I don’t own a YT.

11/21/2025 10:14am I love the idea of serviceable rear mechs but for the price of this you could have 4 XT 12sp derailleurs or 8 Deore 11sp derailleurs! (I just carry an extra in my pack on all day rides) The Jab's price is getting in the ballpark of where these things should be, but realistically I'd only pay $200 max for any derailleur. I wish there was an actual study of what mechs can take how much force because that would convince me to pay over $200 if it's considerably more durable.

11/21/2025 1:19am just wanted to reply to @casey79 from a day or two ago regarding media outlets avoiding the topic b/c of future ad dollars. hopefully the podcast we posted addresses your thoughts about that and vital. some things take time to sort out properly. on the flipside though, that's why i love our community here...everyone is reporting things in near real-time and there is a huge talent pool of expertise to offer insights/info/opinion for any viewer to see. fwiw (not that it really matters), our ad agreement was with YT USA only apparently (just learned that yesterday).

11/18/2025 2:38am Great to see this get BotD. I actually used it as a guide as to how my Titan would look built up as I have similar components. Hard to tell if this is a mullet or not, mine rips on mixed wheels.

11/18/2025 2:31am I just took delivery of a Titan v3.2 last week. My legs are long enough to use a 210mm One Up post in my size XL frame and the thing rips. UDH compatibility is about the only thing missing IMO and that's easily upgraded with the modular dropouts.

11/15/2025 1:21pm Going off @ therock911's cryptic comment to check out the headtube cable insertion for clues, it doesn't look like a Yeti SB120 or new Scott Gambler, but it does look pretty close to a new Norco Sight. I chose the newest bikes I could think of from each brand as a gauge of how they're doing cable routing right now:

11/14/2025 12:08pm A guy I know was on his first solo mountain bike ride when he started cramping up. Had that first bike / new hobby stoke and was trying out the route we’d shown him the week prior. He hadn’t done a ton of long cardio activities in a while, and ended up getting roasted on a hot day. Mega cramps had him walking the final trail back, with some sit downs and some groaning. Those really gnarly leg cramps that just debilitate you. Not particularly funny. Until a rider came by and helped by offering water and an energy packet...

11/14/2025 11:49am I felt this story in the marrow of my bones. I haven’t had your exact experience on the same wheel, but every part of your story I have experienced on one day or another. In a related story, last month I finally decided that I will never ever buy the small roll of tubeless tape or small bottle of sealant ever again. If I change rim size and have 30 meters of extra 30mm tape sitting around, so be it. Cannot afford the existential pain of having 6” too little rim tape ever again.

11/14/2025 11:49am 2 weeks ago I finally got around to having time to set up the new crankbrothers synthesis wheelset from vital fantasy (still so stoked thank you vital and crankbrothers). Pulled the tires and tannus tubeless off my oem set (which I can mount by hand without Tyre levers). Try to install them on the new set. 29r front goes on easy by hand. 27.5 rear is unbelievably tight to get the last little bit and needs levers to get on. Won’t hold air longer than 20min. Spray it with soapy water and it blows bubbles around the valve stem and...

boozed Liked a reply to forum topic E-bike talk: not tech rumor derailment
11/14/2025 3:25am Okay... I want to talk about the absolutely insane prices charged for e-bike range extenders*. For the purposes of this rant I'll be using true blue dinky-di Aussie dollars. The range extender featured in the video is a 280 Wh unit and is currently listed at $950, or $3.40/Wh, while the SL range extender is even worse at $700 for 160 Wh or $4.40/Wh. Trek wants $900 for its 160 Wh TQ unit ($5.60/Wh...) I can go to any consumer electronics retailer and walk out with a brand name 165 Wh power bank for $180 or... you get the idea...
