I was in the garage doing some work to one of my bikes over the weekend and watching old mtb movies... I had the thought of going through a few of these and re-watching them as a community and sharing things we noticed/appreciated... thus the idea for this thread. Maybe I'm nostalgic for a more simple time in mountain biking and mountain bike culture or maybe I'm subconsciously lamenting the barrage of short form content that evaporates in the blink of an eye. Either way, I feel like this is may be a fun way to re-live and re-discover these...

I just got back from a week long trip to whistler where due to some family issues (sick pet) and friends cancelling last minute, I was mostly riding alone. I would definitely second the Blue Mountain recommendation. When I used to work at a local shop in the area we had lots of customers come up from the city to go riding... You could even take The Hudson River line there. The one place I would put above that for what you're looking for would be Mount Beacon. Very easy to bag 1,000 to 1500 ft in a single climb. You can easily find 10 to 15 mile loops and quite a bit more if you're feeling sporty and head south towards Cold Spring. This place is also accessible...
