Well, When Conroy’s dad helped him buy Yeti 20+ years ago, Yeti sorta became Yeti again… The late Scott/early Volant years were the only time I can recall Yeti not being as invested in bike racing as they were in Agoura Hills or Durango, but the entire mtb racing world collapsed in on itself at the turn of the millennium anyway. I would definitely second the Blue Mountain recommendation. When I used to work at a local shop in the area we had lots of customers come up from the city to go riding... You could even take The Hudson River line there. The one place I would put above that for what you're looking for would be Mount Beacon. Very easy to bag 1,000 to 1500 ft in a single climb. You can easily find 10 to 15 mile loops and quite a bit more if you're feeling sporty and head south towards Cold Spring. This place is also accessible...

Dak's in Schladming in a cabin halfway up a mountain. He said the wifi is nonexistent, but the host is working to get it resolved. We planned to chat this morning, now trying for Saturday or Monday morning. Also working around the 9 hr time difference and Dak training/testing before Leogang. The first race of the World Cup Downhill season means plenty of new things to try.
