9/27/2025 5:54pm I think Dakotah was really overcome when he realized he'd just won. It's been a tough year for him, to put it mildly. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DPHumgfD89F/?hl=en

9/27/2025 3:03pm A few quick notes on US Open and Monster Energy Pro Downhill Series: - Dakotah now has three wins and one 2nd place finish in the last 4 US Opens. - Kailey Skelton won the Series overall by just 4 points, with Mayleigh Leaneagh taking second. Kailey won 3 of the 5 Series races this year. - Aaron Gwin won the men's Series overall by 12 points (215 to 203) over Dante Silva. Five different men won races this season. (I don't know if they give a cash prize for winning the overall.)

9/27/2025 3:03pm Well, they just updated it. Dakotah Norton wins the US Open by 0.67 seconds over Richie Rude. I think he also wins the $500 Hole Shot prize for fastest 1st split time. 3rd - 5th were: Brosnan, Vermette, Gwin. Time gap from 1st to 5th was 3.63 seconds. Prize money: 1st - $15,000 2nd - $7500 3rd - $3750 4th - $1875 5th - $950

9/27/2025 3:02pm Aletha Ostgaard wins US Open by 2.79 seconds over Camille Balanche to take the $15,000 first place cash. Aletha also wins the Hole Shot Award of $500 by having the fastest first sector time. What a weekend for her! (She might also have won the season overall for the Monster Energy Pro Series. Not sure about that. She came into the race in 2nd in the standings and series leader Kailey Skelton had difficulties in the 3rd sector, ultimately finishing 22nd. That might have been enough to give Aletha the series points lead.) 3rd through 5th were: Maylei Leaneagh, Mille...

9/26/2025 1:02pm A few notes on the Men's US Open seeding runs: Troy Brosnan had the fastest time through the first 3 (of 5) sectors, up more than a second over Asa. He also had the fastest 1st split time. I mention that because in tomorrow's final the racer with the fastest 1st split gets a $500 Hole Shot prize (prizes for both women and men). Fourteen-year old Canadian prospect Mack Manietta finished a very respectable 25th in the Men's Pro division, within 1 second of WC racers Tyler Waite (22nd) and Tegan Cruz (23rd). Greg Minnaar was last to drop and...

9/26/2025 5:42am Yo, also on the trail crew. Not really down to get into the mud with all of the environmental permitting stuff which is really above my dirt-shaping pay grade, but misinformation about the crew test riding our own course build is where I draw the line. We rode it last week on trail bikes and will be riding more this week. T>B

9/19/2025 2:01pm There should be quite a few here that know of Ridemonkey. It has historically been a treasure trove of tech information and racing discussions. Folks such as Dave Weagel, Vorsprung Steve, and many other industry leaders got their start in those forums. Didn't @sspomer used to work there? RM is set to be shut down and lost forever, but there is hope for saving it. https://ridemonkey.bikemag.com/threads/help-save-ridemonkey.299410/ Act quickly and send some $ their way if you can to free the site from corporate control and save it's place in mountain bike history. There is so much information and history in...

9/12/2025 5:47am How sad. Since when did this forum become some kind of gossip column, bitching about pro riders who you don’t know personally and have probably never met? Stop this nonsense and just enjoy the spectacle. This season is becoming another classic. Hope it goes to the final round.

9/4/2025 5:37pm We knocked out another B practice podcast this week, and had a few rumor topics come to light: 1. Dak signed a two year deal with Mondraker that ends this year. He was SUPER tight lipped about what the future holds. 2. Cami is retiring, Richie is EDR World Champ, Tyler Waite will be in Elites next year. I'm curious what Richie decides to race, and who they add to the team alongside Tyler (assuming he stays with them) 3. Max and Till Alran will be in Elites next year. Can anyone confirm how many Elite riders you can have...

8/25/2025 6:06am Time to kick off the silly season for 2026. Throw your best guesses, secrets or official news about mountain bike racers and their 2026 plans into the ring. While I have no specific news at this moment, I'm extremely curious to see how things pan out for next year when it comes to racer values and the investment incentives into race teams for brands. 2025, at least at the World Cup level, has proven that an expensive roster of top talent (or formerly top talent) doesn't guarantee results or even a presence on race day.

8/13/2025 1:28pm Great pod... I'd say this is the best USDH has been since the NORBA hay day. Just seeing an actual US series as opposed to a bunch of regional series is a good start.. The replay shows are exceptionally well done. It would be nice to see those hit sooner, but it takes time to edit all that. I think it would be cool to see some riders profiles or some tech segments. Those could be mixed into the show or used to keep the stoke high between rounds. I understand if they don't want have to show run too...
