I'm not from the US neither did I comment anything related to the topic in a pro-US way (so the ya'll regime doesn't really apply to me), but saying @sethimus does anything politely on this forum is a bit optimistic, isn't it? the management of the finals start list paired with the invite-only status of hardline BC led to a lackluster broadcast for me. the show started strong then really slowed down with riders who are there more for entertaining than competing before ramping up again toward the final riders. the non-competitive riders (do we call them influencers?) are fun to watch and made the week leading up to race day quite enjoyable b/c of their content. maybe they have their own class that runs at the start of the day, leaving potentially nail-biting racing to happen all in the same broadcast...

Maybe 3 or 4 years ago Wyn Masters gave Antoine his Privateer of the Week award and he interviewed Antoine. Antoine told how someone had stolen his bike and Loïc Bruni had given him one of his bikes so Antoine could race that week. I became a fan of Antoine's at that moment, and I recognized what a great guy Loïc was. It's little stuff like this that make me a fan of this sport.

Sounds like the deal is negotiated, Red Bull keeps an eye on them, and when they feel the time is right they will offer them the helmet when they feel they are ready. So it does sound like there might be a clause in the contract that the helmet handover is the official start date of the contract that has already been negotiated. Probably unpopular opinion, but I think this placid course is a better track to watch than whistler was. Think it’s because the trees are more open at the top you see more track per camera shot and also as it’s not as steep it allows riders more opportunities to pull for gaps
