12/4/2025 6:59am That's cool to hear! In an interview sometime this fall he made it pretty clear that he was going to focus on the 2026 season after having a few too many distractions this year. Should make for some great battles, 2026 may be the best World Cup series yet!

11/29/2025 6:01pm Funny screen grab… oops… But more production ready frames… more brembos, and different Ohlins stanchions.. I think frame and brakes are soon! Let’s hope. I want the brakes. Not sure on Ohlins but will be interesting to see that direction

11/28/2025 6:26pm Yes you can rule out that possibility sadly as all UCI teams are now registered for 2026. Sorry to ruin the fun 😊

11/27/2025 6:05pm There's more than one way to skin a cat. You don't have to deliver a Stephen Sackur HARDtalk style aggressive rebuttal based interview to provide insight. You can just let your interviewee make his case, ask the questions and let him respond. Give him the rope as they say. For anyone complaining about the interview, who has listened to it and thought Flossman came of well? Do you really think anyone out there thinks that? Chris let him make his case, and he sounds incredibly tone deaf and has confirmed to all of us the naive incompetent narcissist that he...

11/26/2025 10:17pm Thanks to those who've taken time to write kind words about Downtime. I was expecting to get some hate for this episode as there is definitely a lot of frustration out there on this topic and Markus appears to be a very polarising character. For what it's worth, I put in the time to understand the concerns of the MTB world as much as was possible from forums etc and I believe that all those key points were covered in this interview. I also took time to understand the mechanisms of Private Equity and just why growth is essential and...

11/24/2025 7:39pm Chris is the man. The amount that guy does for gravity sports and athlete exposure is unreal. I think it's unfair to bash downtime over the YT gong show. Keen for a Vital x Downtime 2025 recap podcast this slow season 👀

11/22/2025 8:16pm Peeked the prototype sixfinity Yeti SB160 while on my ride today. Didn’t get the greatest look as they were being sneaky-sneaky with it. I chatted to the product manager (who was on SB140) a bit, all he’d divulge was that it was the SB160 and that it’s a “sweet bike”, while the guy on the 160 was hiding in the bushes. But what I saw was a vertical shock orientation, and frame storage door, looked sleek AF and could be close to production ready...

11/21/2025 3:39pm In honor of the 1000th page, we should vote on the best meme of 2025: 👍🏻 for “Crab” 👎🏻 for “6-7” edit: Carcinization is the antithesis of innovation. Maybe we should keep crab talk on the crab talk forum and keep this thread focused on MTB tech rumors and/or innovation.

11/18/2025 7:24am I think keyboard warriors wanted to see YT burn after this to burn Markus. Twice have they burned riders at the top of the game. They burned customers. Why would we want to be oh yeah they are back? All the good karma that they had built up over the years?

11/18/2025 7:24am There have been a few almost losses the last two years who at least tried or were open about what was happening, and come back swinging like Rocky, Kona, Nukeproof. They have all come back in someway and people celebrated them coming back because of the way they handled it. Revel as well, although they were a bit tougher with customer support. Then there are YT and Pole. If two brands stayed dead because of the way they handled their customers and riders very publicly, I don't think a lot of people who cry about it.

11/17/2025 11:04am Is replacing 8 more bearings when you already have your linkage blown apart really that big of a deal? I don’t ride a crazy amount, but I do ride a good amount, and I do not replace my bearings more than every other year. Most of the time they are still fine. Unless you’re in the top 0.1% of riders I don’t see any reason why you should be replacing bearings more than once a year. So maybe 8 more bearings to change might take another 2 hours if you’re severely bad at using tools. I spend more than 2...

11/12/2025 7:29am Two things I really like about the Conti Kryptotals in DH casing SS compound- 1. The grip is predictable and it's easy to feel. No, I don't think they have as much maximum grip as the Maxxis maxxgrip compound but when the maxxis gives, it just goes. The kryptotals have a lower ceiling but falls off in a slower and...

11/6/2025 6:39pm Aston and Cahal have their quirks but calling them mediocre riders is complete BS. Both of those guys rip. Also 435 chainstay on a modern XL mtb is a joke IMO. Especially for a frame that costs $4k.
