I had this exact same thought before reading your comment. We know skin suit is faster but that doesn’t matter. The 32 is so ugly.

Thanks! Apparently superboost was to accommodate the chainline of the dual chain solution. My best guess was that RMU wanted to make a bike, probably didn't know how to, so they bought a full suspension solution from DW. I'm not going to pretend I know that much about suspension kinematics and such so I won't comment on the solution itself. Superboost…?

As long as the spline interface is the same, the body width is irrelevant. It looks like they are coming up with short freehub bodies, but unlike XD jobbers the full-length splines of Micro Spline means a narrower 8sp cassette would just need spacers to fit on a 12sp MS freehub as long as the interface is the same. Shimano developing a new cassette standard just for DH would be very unlike Shimano. That doesn't fit their M.O.
