I asked in one of their IG comments. Neko said he skipped it because he was beat up from his crash at Windrock the weekend before. AG is racing the DHSE there this week though so seems like it was just a short time injury/soreness.

It's almost like they went "let's make a competition Phil Atwill would win and then see if he wants to fly over from Greece." I love watching him ride and I think he's a great get for the series. I was already planning to watch but now I'm extra curious to see how Phil, Luca Cometti, Kyle, Eddie, and Tegan (as well as everyone else but those are the first names that jumped out) adapt to the courses and figure it all out.

I think the asymmetric thing is way over exaggerated, unless your on some weird old school stem. I generally just pick the stem number than means I can get into an easily repeatable, comfy riding position where I don't have to think to much about weighting. Most of my bikes have shorter 35mmish stems, not for that number as such, because that's what makes the frame reach/stack/bar rise and sweep work.

I mean, nothing in this thread is really that relevant in the scheme of things, yet here we are. I know my life isn't changed that spec may have a little half moon of a text logo over their butts this year.

On another board I'm on (football message board) there's a thread on the Winter Olympics. The response to the various sports on there is pretty telling on WBD's efforts to increase viewership of downhill. By and large, people are talking about how watching the various single-athlete on track competitions is somewhat boring. On the other hand, they, by and large, enjoy the events that have multiple athletes going head to head. Not any kind of exhaustive, quantitative data, but I think it's pretty telling about the sort of thing that appeals to the masses. I'm just not sure that DHI...

This is why we did not want too many French riders at the beginning. The team is American : the team principal, Elton Julian, is American/Ecuadorian. We have a workshop in Concord (North Carolina), with the GT racing cars, two trucks etc. Team also has one workshop in Barcelona, which is our base when we race in Europe, also with some race cars, truck, tools. DS always had this international culture : in the crew we have some Portuguese OR Brazilian engineers, Portuguese, Spanish or English mechanics etc. Yes I am French and living in the Alps between races, but...

Marketing is interesting. Some of it is literally ONLY for brand/product awareness. It's an important part of creating a brand. It doesn't matter how good a product is if no one knows about it. Additionally, lots of folks in the world are the sort of folks who believe everything their brain tells them. Those folks also tend to buy the things that they think of first.
