LTRRR Liked a reply to forum topic I want some useful data. How long have you owned your ebike with no failure/warranty? (And which ebike MOTOR/battery did have failure/warranty?)
2/26/2026 9:38am I actually just put together a YouTube video compiling a bunch of eBike motor reliability data I came across: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOZf0U1XsoE

1st & only ebike is a 2023 Marin Alpine E with Shimano ep6 motor & 504wH battery. Zero issues so far, but all I've heard is that it ep6 or 8 is "flaming garbage" but 2.5 years later and 2500 miles deep, battery health is 92% and no probs to report. Can still pull 4000 ft climb days (450 if...

2/4/2026 2:02pm I like the radials in the wet, and particularly on techier trails. But on faster tracks that allow more cornering load, they get weird. Vague in the corners, until you up the air pressure enough that you start losing grip. Slow rolling too. Possibly dependent on rider weight and aggression. Great tires for muting square edged chatter and roots for sure.

2/3/2026 7:11pm Pardon the windbagger but here goes: in short - get the radials for grip, durability and wild fun. I've mostly ridden the radials over the past 13-14 months and I think they are easily next level, and well above the others for grip, durability, and ultimately price because they last forever. They are the be-all end all for me and...

12/19/2025 11:26am IDK - I thought there were waaaay more 3 letter acro's than that, IMO... but I didn't track them. Kidding but yeah... it was enough.

Mtn-Goat-13 Added a comment about feature "We Were Living Month to Month" - Interview with Sam Nicols, YT CEO from 2021-2024
12/18/2025 7:45am As a business failure and know-nothing, I wanted to ask if we can get a chart translating the 3-letter acronyms in this pod for civilians? Kidding - context helps, but I found myself being unable to guess the acronyms in any form. This pod def shed some more light on the unfolding YT story. I have older models (still running strong) and love these bikes, but totally understand the hate coming for Markus - but a lot of that feels like pitchfork hunting without having all the information and maybe the are right and he is a total douchewad. I...

12/12/2025 7:35pm Whoever championed the move to slip fit bearings in headsets should be lit on fire. Until maybe 10 or 15 years ago they were always press fit in the cups. Since the advent of slip fit bearings I routinely get a combination that is prone to knocking or creaking. Any engineer or even armchair engineer can see that a slip fit, no matter how ‘tight’, can be prone to rocking under high lateral loads. There’s very few companies left doing a proper press fit. King is one of them but to my dismay they don’t offer a top and bottom...

12/12/2025 2:30pm Again a killer pod. Weekly conversation and I'm beyond stoked. I have a lot of drive / pod time each week and end up listening to a lot of mtb pod drivel. This is not drivel, it's highly engaging and I hope y'all are gonna be doing one every week or two. Ran this one twice because it's so easy to miss a lot even when you think you're focused. Thx so much!

12/12/2025 2:12pm I’m really glad you called out the “if anyone can do it, he can” line, which gets mentioned at least 5 times every final. Pretty easy saying to understand yet there still ends up being a handful of “if anyone can” riders. 😂

12/9/2025 9:50am I have no idea what the listening stats are on a pod like this but personally I find it wildly interesting, as with just about anything in the bike biz, riding, gear, WC chat w/ Dak - whatever. Its just killer to hear you guys chatting about whatever, and if possible weekly - even if just 30/45 mins. I'm not a video podcast watcher (seriously who's got time?) but whatever... more pods! more pods! more pods!

12/9/2025 9:47am This was a sweet pod. I liked the part at the end when the three of you talked about getting better at riding is way harder than buying xx1. It makes me think of all the people going viral shredding a free bike for a day. It’s interesting to think about Lars perspective on the industry being smaller than you think and having many friends who are also owners or high level employees of similar companies. Cool to get a glimpse into what coordinating a bike launch is like.

12/9/2025 9:47am Great discussion! As someone who has been in the bike industry for 30 years and has owned a shop for the last 6. Jason is REAL close on something..Specialized kinda nailed it on the latest Ebike release. Even thought I don't think they knew what they did or cared about the dealers when it happened. It was leaked for almost a year that they had a new Ebike coming. Spy shots, Rumors they are already in wherehouses.. Than after it was delayed I think do to so much old stock they thru the mega sale. I know of at LEAST...

12/9/2025 9:47am Really enjoying this style of podcast. Transition seems to run a pretty tight ship of kinda staying in their lane and not straying far from it.

12/2/2025 5:30am "1) I think this YT segment of pods (and Brine's involvement) has been really good lately and I would love to see Vital do weekly pods (of any type) to stay on the pod-radar, even if its just 30-45 mins jabbering about bikes, gear, whatever. The DH season w/ Dak is great, and likewise, the details on bike biz that Jeff's been pitching in on - which I thought would be must-miss - were must-hear really, and w/ Charlie & Schroeder... this has been pretty damn interesting. I get that pods are more time consuming than the fan base thinks...

12/2/2025 5:28am Just got caught up on the forum tea. Amazing that Chris came here to comment. Thank you Chris! Big fan. Agree 100% with what you said, Jeff. Sounds like Chris approached this podcast with the same approach he brings to every podcast. In Chris’s defense, what you see is what you get. If you’re a regular listener, you know what to expect from his interviews. He gives everyone a platform and doesn’t put anyone on blast. For many of us, that standard approach feels like a mismatch for this particular situation because Markus does not appear to be a trustworthy...
