7/13/2026 4:32am Finally got time on my 38 flash from my 35. Yep, there's a good difference in torsional stiffness. Wonderful. Steering is more precise and direct and whilst I didn't specifically test for brake induced torsional load I'm going to assume that's not such a thing anymore. Still really rate the 35, you can't go wrong with either tbh.

7/13/2026 4:29am I’ll never forget the time I was course marshaling an event with a huge SRAM presence. Title sponsor of the race actually. They had just rolled out 2X drivetrains. A very fast sponsored racer had a massive front ring chainsuck right in front of me… I was like “nope. Not buying it.” 🤣

7/12/2026 10:31am Or maybe people are reacting to your lack of respect for their time. You’ve added a signature to every one of your posts advertising your AI coded product in a forum where almost no one uses a signature so it’s basically spam. When you asked a technical question and were given resources that answered your question in great detail written by an industry subject matter expert you used AI to read it for you and it gave you a wrong answer which others had to correct. People are putting time into knowledge sharing and you’re here just slop-posting which is...

7/10/2026 4:27am I think the selling point for CVTs in ICE-driven systems is that often gas engines have a pretty narrow torque band where they are efficient, with efficiency dropping off quite a bit outside of the band. A standard transmission with maybe 4 to 6 gears will end up just having a couple of sweet spots where efficiency is good. The CVT allows the system to live in the efficient band most/all of the time. Commercial 18-wheeler-type drives have staged transmissions to get them many more points where the system is good, much like our 12-speed drivetrains. They pop through 4...

7/10/2026 4:26am For what it's worth - here's Google's AI snippet asking about belt CVT efficiency: Belt-driven CVTs are 80% to 88% efficient in cars, and 70% to 75% efficient in scooters. They are less efficient than traditional manual transmissions (which hit 97%) because they rely on sliding friction to transfer power. However, their ability to keep the engine at its most optimal power zone balances out these losses.

7/9/2026 7:04am I switched from the Edge to the 38, and the difference in lateral stiffness is pretty significant. Of course, the added weight is noticeable too—it took me a little while to get used to it. But I don't notice it anymore, not even on sharper, more technical sections. It goes exactly where I point it, without hesitation

7/9/2026 7:03am As a follow-up to my questions earlier in this thread, I ended up getting a flash 38 with 20mm axle (was debating between a flash/infinity/dorado). I decided I didn't want to pedal a dual crown around; mostly out of fear of being a "poser" if I wasn't sending everything in sight. I'm stoked on my choice. The flash is insane. Broke it on a week-long trip to Squamish and Whistler. It started off butter-smooth; after a day and a half, it somehow got even better. I did feel some torsional flex a couple times - once when landing a jump...

7/8/2026 12:53pm I got a D4 polyacrylite at the end of last season in Highland and I see no compelling reason to switch to a more expensive helmet either. Feature wise it is up there with the more expensive helmets, it is very comfortable, and the extra 100g does not bother me at all. I could get six of those D4s for...

7/8/2026 12:42pm me over here in my poverty spec D4 Polyacrylite that I picked up for $250 bucks that weighs 1130g. I've debated the DOT vs DH certification a few times because of a few of my moto riding buddies will use mtb dh helmets for wood/trail riding up in big bear in the heat of the summer. I'm a bit paranoid and have only done it once and I have to admit, I felt pretty exposed but the 400g of less weight was really nice. I will say that I fail to see the difference between what sort of incidents I...
