Pretty sure that is a 29er. I would be surprised to see Rock Shox release a Pike 32" fork before a Sid 32"

Watching the footage back I filmed in 2011-2012 with my Hero2 was enough to make me decide to never buy another action cam.

Which derailleur? If it's SRAM GX or NX you could have a worn B-bolt interface causing slop. Deore and NX have soft steel in their parallelograms that is easily tweaked whey they meet Mr. Rock, and then they're basically trash. GX and NX B-bolts are steel and wear the aluminum derailleur body if you do a lot of bumpy miles. Can be fixed with Hall Lock mod where you make the derailleur bottom out firmly on the hanger by modding or shimming the B-bolt. Derailleur can't rotate on hanger any more with this, so wheel swaps are slightly more annoying...

"Speaking to the eBike riders I see on the trails here, they're all shifting to lower-priced bikes as they've realized that they can without sacrificing performance." This lines up with a hypothesis I've been thinking about for a while, which is that I think so much of the weirdness of the bike industry and bike customers (obsession with grams and weight, obsession over granular differences in tire feel and suspension tuning, and willingness to spend enormous amounts to customize and upgrade a stock bike) comes down to the weakness of the human motor and the human mind. We only generate...

Hey @ballz , We occasionally get feedback about the noise that the pawls make when they engage the ratchet ring during initial pedaling movement, but your description sounds pretty extreme and not the norm. Can you drop us a line at support@ethirteen.com and we can dig into it with you. Thanks!

@ballz - Great to hear you got it figured out and that it was not the hub.

If you didn't document your ride, did you even ride, bro?

Thank you both for your replies. It made me dig deeper and the hub is, in fact, innocent. Two things seem to be happening instead - the RD makes this metallic clang when the bike bounces, with or without chain, which is odd. The entire wheel rings quite a bit when this happens, which adds to the overall acoustic impression...

I've ridden the hub a lot and have not experienced this at all. I found my bike quieter. That said, I'm in the max position (18 degrees) and exclusively ran V2 on an Epic 8 Evo (with good results). Maybe the lack of travel kept it from "cycling" like you are experiencing? @e*thirteen to the white curtesy phone...bet they can help you out.

Apologies for resurrecting this old thread, but I figured we don't need a new one for discussing our Sidekick experiences. I've had the base V2 Sidekick on a Megatower for a few weeks now and wonder how did you all make your bikes quiet with these hubs? Edit: I was wrong about the source of the clang, my assumption below...
