6/11/2026 5:58am If the bars still turn smoothly then it isn't too tight - there needs to be tension in the bearings themselves to work properly, but there will be noticeable resistance if its too tight. Grease the bolt thread (and maybe under the head) and makes sure all the surfaces are clean and at least lightly greased so there isn't anything binding up and preventing the parts from being pulled together. Theres a lot of pieces in a headset which adds up to frcition as you tighten the bolt. You are unlikely to break anything by overtightening a normal headset (ignore...

6/11/2026 5:52am Negative. Can't comment on CT but I have yet to see a larger group of e-mopeds in Greater Boston / MA or NH. Motorized vehicles are not allowed in MA state parts regardless of their categorization so I am sure that helps, too.

6/11/2026 5:48am I haven't observed the same in NH, ME, and upstate NY. I see probably 80% analog bikes except for Wendsduro at Highland where there are more. I really wonder how regional this is, or if it's more dependent on the trail systems or days of the week people ride.

6/10/2026 10:32am My experience with the Conti rubbers is similar to @notanengineer ... even the Super Soft lasts longer than the useful life of the tire itself. At a certain point, the casing starts losing structure, and the knobs start cracking at the base well before they physically wear down. As his durometer testing showed, they layer a harder rubber over a softer core, which is the opposite of most other brands. In our abrasive dirt, the knob "shells" kind of get polished down and very slippery too, before they become physically worn down. IMO, their whole rubber lineup should be effectively...

6/9/2026 3:54pm I highly doubt trail associations need an Sworks bike that costs 3x the price of a good enough alternative.

Finding a mountain bike that balances performance and price is a game of compromise. However, after spending some time on the Polygon Collosus T6, it’s clear that for $2,500, this aluminum trail machine offers a surprisingly high fun factor with plenty of options for fine-tuning geometry right out of the box. 6/8/2026 4:42am I like the clutch in the Jab. You can fine tune the breakaway force and the clutch has a ratchet so it does not engage on release.

6/8/2026 4:35am Yesterday I spoke with a guy who rode a couple of EDRs and would always ride xtr mech since forever but he was on a sram. He said not only the chain slap was unbearable on the new di2 xtr but he would also drop chains pretty much daily, to the extend the top of his crank which cought the chain became all scratched... The shifting was absolutely amazing but the reliability is horrible and he also noticed shimano sponsored enduro pros would run full dh chain tensioners or STFUs just to keep the chain on, which is mindboggling how...

6/7/2026 5:53pm ~$500 dollars for a set of ‘DH’ crowns to ‘upgrade’ your dual crown forks which should have already been optimized for DH is diabolical. Let me just make my $2000 forks 25% more expensive because I got sold inferior crowns.

6/5/2026 1:35pm Sort of a tech rumour? Remy looks to be on an Avalanche damper in his latest video. We know Vorsprung is working on a new damper, and they had noted they’ve been testing all the other options (including Avy).
