I know only heathens ride these, but are they the best full 27.5 trail bikes ever made?
Pivot Shadowcat $100 less the frame only
Yeti SB135 $500 less than frame only
All that pivot shadow at on sale shows is how ridiculous pivots prices are. That bike is priced at 4 grand. That’s a 40% discount. And it has base suspension, base brakes, eagle 90/70 parts. I don’t care how good the “frame quality” is.
The MSRP is borderline criminal imo.
Nice deals. And no, they aren't, my V5 Bronson is the best 27.5 trail bike ever made. 🙃
When I stopped by Yeti a 18-ish months back to try a couple bikes for sizing, one of the employees said some of the staff's fave bikes were the 135 with a 29" up front. Not "recommended" but said it was fun and rode well. I wasn't in the market for a bike like that but I thought it was cool they mentioned that.
Just figured I'd put that out there in case folks were on the fence.
You're not wrong, but this isn't about the best value overall. Just a good deal for boutique brands. Base parts on a boutique frames is kind of funny, but at the same time it's modern base parts that are pretty good in the grand scheme of things.
Also, no batteries.
That's mx I thought, maybe that's what you're implying with the emote. I did forget about the (v4 maybe) 5010. That would be more comparable to the Pivot and Yeti. I wonder how similar the suspension feel would be between those three bikes.
