As someone with problems with nerves in my hands, I find the new Goldstone grips amazing - thin with a raised palm pad. I'd say they give me better ride comfort than Rev Grips.

Grip size is a factor. Too big of grips and you won't be able to get enough finger wrap to have a secure grip. Too small of grips and your finger tips will not have enough room before your palm. For a demonstration of this, try doing pullups on a large diameter bar or open handed ledge, vs. doing them on a bar that lets you have good finger wrap. The oversized bar will require a lot more grip strength to hold onto. I personally like 29-30mm dia "slim" grips for my size medium hands. I'd guess that typical 32mm...

I missed that you were European. I don't have a clue on access issues on your side of the pond and didn't mean to be commenting on those. I also should have prefaced my response by saying it wasn't meant to be personal or inflammatory. I tend to see red on this issue. For my mental health, I should probably unfollow this thread. But I also want to stay to learn more about other people's opinions for trail-advocacy reasons. I do think a huge factor in how people view this issue is their normal riding. If you're mainly climbing up...

I'd recommend the aluminum Sidekick Grappler DH wheels. The Sidekick hub is so sick for PK reduction and for the freecoasting speed. Those wheels come in way under $1000. Or you could build up a wheelset around the new an cheaper $250 Sidekick rear hub if you want to go the DIY route.

I'd be extremely disappointed in the bike industry if they didn't take this opportunity to also introduce a new hub standard. That would be VERY uncharacteristic of them.

There are no real speed limits on trails, and there is no one enforcing "reckless driving" or anything similar on multidirectional and, most importantly, multiuse trails. I think it'd be fan-fuckin'-tastic if there were cops on the trails writing tickets for being an asshole and revoking "drivers licenses." Please tell me where to volunteer for the training required to get deputized. There's also no required insurance coverage to lose unless you count an umbrella policy that would cover you for a tort. Are you suggesting drivers of Avinox e-moto's be required to have at-fault insurance coverage and, presumably, driver's licenses...

I think you meant “kind of FUN geometry”. As a person who gets more than 100 bike park days a year, this is way more in line with how parkrats of all ages enjoy riding… ymmv
