9/10/2026 9:17am It'll be interesting to see if the dhx translates well to a dd or exo+. I suspect the magic there is 95% new dh casing. I've been running them on my dh bike and my e-dreadnought for half the summer, and agree that they are better than the other brand's radials. Feels like you have the sidewall support in corners...

ntm95 Added a reply to Suspension Component Technology/Functionality Discussion
9/8/2026 8:09am It functions, but I wouldn't say it's exceptional in any way. If I had to choose, I prefer the '27 zeb ultimate at lower speeds, at pace they are pretty similar. My 6 year old avalanche hybrid zeb is still easily outperforming both. It is an improvement though over the old grip 2 38's, those were not great at all.

9/1/2026 4:35pm I've had a set of the wolftooth ones on my dh bike for a few months now. Did absolutely nothing for hand fatigue, but did save my pinky finger from getting squashed by a tree at sunpeaks.

8/7/2026 1:00pm I'm surprised that nobody is doing a lead shot/epoxy fill in the bb area.

8/4/2026 8:40am Wet roots perhaps ? I like the hr3 better just about everywhere except on off camber wet roots.

7/15/2026 9:12am Not in the sense that one would like them to be, as there are no tangible performance advantages beyond the marketing. That cell format has existed for quite some time, they're simply slapping the "semi-solid" label on it. Like I said, the next advance, which has already been readily available on the market for over a year, is the molicell...

7/13/2026 3:09pm No such thing as semi solid state batteries, in the sense you mean. Technically most available batteries are "semi solid" state. They could very easily go to molicell m65a's, which drop right into the existing battery packaging, and yield charging and discharging that's twice as fast, and add 20% more capacity. But they have not at this point. They've been...
ntm95 Added a reply to Assegai no grip zone
6/16/2026 1:00pm Assegai is just kind of numb, works at all angles, but isn't the best at any of them. Not sure if it's the casing (feels different than previous maxxis dh casings), but I'm really liking the dh highroller 3 right now. Bites like a dhf in corners, but still conforms to off camber roots and such nicely.
ntm95 Added a reply to Cockpit Setup Puzzling
6/16/2026 12:50pm The regulator has a pretty decently balanced f/r ratio. Bikes like that are effected negatively in trying to ride it like older geo. You want to stay centered and ride through your feet/hips rather than through your hands/shoulders. Front grip comes from your feet, not your hands. Hence, shorter reach and higher stack is beneficial. Forbidden has this pretty dialed...

6/16/2026 7:56am What bike and size, and how tall are you ? Can be suspension related too, if you have a fork that's piling up.

6/12/2026 3:51pm I ran that on a claymore for a short time. Not enough traction front or rear. Would maybe use as an arizona setup where you're not cornering very hard. I won't run anything but ss compound up front now. And s rear.
ntm95 Added a reply to Modern Geo Talk: Chainstays, Stack, Reach, and Bitching About It
5/27/2026 11:00am Taller riders historically getting the shaft with the one size fits all chainstay approach, has been my experience. It takes time to adapt to a longer rear end and riding through your feet and hips. The longer you've been on a short rear end, the longer it takes to recalibrate ones riding style, but the benefits are certainly there afterwards...

5/4/2026 3:44pm That is true of the 800wh, but not necessarily the 600wh.

4/21/2026 11:39am I'm not surprised, whoever is running their geo over there is asleep at the wheel. Makes the commencal v5 look even more attractive.

ntm95 Added a reply to E-bike talk: not tech rumor derailment
4/20/2026 12:19pm Not on the e-dreadnought, it is a dedicated frame. Long chainstays, short reach, tall stack, and a motor make a steeper seat tube angle actually undesirable.

4/16/2026 11:57am Correct, the discharge rating on the existing cells is too low when used in smaller capacity packs. The newer 6000mah molicell 21700's have a higher discharge rating, and would be appropriate for standalone small pack usage.
