I totally agree with you but we're both forum nerds. There's tons of people who own Stumpjumpers and have zero problems with that bike's performance. I think that extends into Amflow and their target market, which isn't us. Personally, I'm neutral, neither love nor hate, the SJ (spent 3,000mi on an SJ Evo), and feel like I would be on the Amflow too, although I would really like to try one with the Cascade Link. Cascade's Recent email said that link may be more popular than the Levo link, so maybe the Amflow does appeal to nerds too...

I highly doubt amflow will stay popular unless they release a different bike soon. The motor/battery is good, but the bike itself is a stumpjumper knockoff from temu. I was not impressed with the one I tried. It's laughable that they're priced higher than a forbidden e druid (which is a much, much better bike). The teewing flux also looks...

I find the continental to be one of the more stiff casings. I'm a serial tire burper in corners, it's one of the few that keeps the sealant and air inside the tire. The radials feel very disconnected in comparison. Great on tech, but a bit weird in mach chicken corners.

I'm a pretty big fan of continental's downhill casings on the e-bike. Argotal ss front and kryptotal s rear. At 49.5 pounds, I'll charge about anything on the e-bike that I would on my 37 pound coil/coil dreadnought.

I think much of it has to do with the type of riding. If your local trails/terrain is lame enough that you need to make your own fun, lighter is always better. Personally, I find zero difference between my acoustic enduro bike and my e-bike. The e-bike is actually faster in many places on descents, and opens up interesting line...
That screw seals on the conical face, not the threads. It will trap some oil between the face and the threads. This will weep out of the threads and make it look like it's leaking. I find giving it a squirt of isopropyl on the bleed screw threads after tightening helps.

Thanks for all the love Vital! My goal is to continue a career that allows me to contribute to another 1000 pages of the tech rumour thread.

I hit the steeps in Santa Cruz today with the shaven brakes and I’m pretty blown away with how powerful they are. It feels like a >50% increase in power from xt with MTX pads. I’m using the stock organic maven pads and it’s by far the strongest brake I have ever used. I had more control than I’ve ever had on the steepest trails. I’m a big fan of the maven calipers after today. Unfortunately I have also confirmed that the XT wandering is due to the lever. On sustained DH, the lever does pump out just a little...

I'd agree that the motor is likely running at a slightly higher efficiency level due to the extra room to optimize the motor vs an east/west layout. But any gains there would be cancelled out by the right angle drive's efficiency. And the knock on effects of vectoring torque 90 degrees are typically seen in weight and component longevity. I...
The main point to acknowledge is that there's little to no advantage to a shorter travel bike in these areas. I'm western alberta, and do most of my riding in BC. There's a geographical correlation there as well with the popularity of different manufacturer's geometry flavours, particularly in f/r ratios. You couldn't pay me enough money to ride a pivot...

Ah, I was curious if the net was actually scaled according to value for an e-bike, or in the interests of competitive pricing they ran a per unit target profit. Hence my assumption that manufacturers were tying up more money for longer, without realizing an equivalent profit to cover their risk.

I'm genuinely curious how the economics of e-bikes may differ from that of acoustic bikes. As in, do they stress a company more on the supply side by tying up capital for longer, with less potential revenue for that risk.

Have you seen their e-bike ? Surely drugs and/or blindness was involved in the design process on that one. In all seriousness though, the collapse of many of these companies sure seems to follow the release of an ebike.

Hah, where I live I have to drive quite literally across the entirety of Switzerland, to get to the nearest hill. 500kms to the nearest mountain. Which I do most weekends. Your point of view is a bit geo locked.

That's great to hear ! I wouldn't mind a less "natural" feel really, I find the bosch and fazua perfectly acceptable. And would be very happy with the current 580wh with something like a 500g increase in motor/drive weight and a bit more power. The fazua system would be great if it weren't for the reliability and efficiency issues inherent...
