3/6/2026 4:40pm Can't imagine much transfers over for tech anyways. Certainly nothing does with fox. I remember trying some 3.0 coilovers from icon on my truck back in the day, digressive damping sucked then, I'm sure it still does.

3/3/2026 10:42am The clutch rattles alot in the sx motors. It is one of the less desirable power systems. They are certainly serviceable and fairly reliable though. The mondraker, I wouldn't buy anything but their '25+ bikes, as they have the updated rear suspension. What size are you ?

3/2/2026 4:43pm If you've narrowed it down to two, there are many more important factors there than travel. Which bikes ? And where do you do most of your riding ? I'm a pretty big fan of more travel on e-bikes since there's no penalty in terms of battery life. I do lots of riding west of calgary, e-bike is a good...

3/1/2026 2:41am I don’t know what to say, it is pretty common knowledge that e-bike suspension just tends to work better. There are many brands out there that use very similar geo and kinematics in their acoustic and e versions of a bike. It’s not enough of a difference to be an actual negative to an acoustic bike, but the difference is...

2/27/2026 2:30pm I've been happy with the v2's so far, no dramas, and the dreadnought got beat down hard as a park bike most of the summer. But I acknowledge that all bikes have issues, and new designs typically have more issues. Specialized has less issues certainly because they're a thoroughly mature product at this point. But unfortunately are also dragging the...

2/27/2026 1:40pm I've had more issues with a stumpjumper and an enduro than I have any of my forbidden bikes. 🤷♂️ I have only had their v2 versions though, no idea what the v1's were like.

2/27/2026 1:31pm I'd disagree with that. Heavier vs lighter rider is all in the damping tune and ride frequency (rate). Within reason, there is a tipping point sub 130 pounds where seal drag and other frictions become significant to the light rider. Heavier vs lighter bike (in the bb area) effects primarily the base sprung/unsprung mass ratio. This manifests on things like...

2/27/2026 9:40am Ride one and get back to me. It's well known that e-bikes do indeed make suspension work better. Sprung vs un-sprung mass, in the bike. Rider weight isn't the same thing unfortunately. The other bikes were all well sorted, and generally above average as far as parts quality. I'm including other e-bikes of course, but also stuff like the dreadnought...

2/27/2026 9:23am And that's the issue with being a bike nerd in western canada. I value descending performance over most other metrics, and like a bit of character to my bikes. Couldn't care less about road or gravel bikes. Specialized "specializes" in bikes that appeal to the weekend warrior that will be dropping the kids off at soccer first. So darn vanilla...

2/27/2026 8:31am Yes, XR. That's a size large. I am 6' (183cm) with long legs and arms. It is a hair too big, a m/l would have been ideal, but the price was too good to walk past. I have a 600wh and a 800wh battery, but almost always ride it with the 600wh. 49.5 pounds (22.5kg) with the 600wh. The geo...

2/26/2026 12:17pm 170mm for the e-dreadnought is the word on the street. Potentially uses the druid e front triangle, so existing druid e owners may be able to convert if forbidden makes those parts available.

2/26/2026 9:40am I'd wait for the 25+ bosch version to go on sale and snag that. I basically paid half price for one... Having ridden several dji bikes at this point, the bosch gen 5 is still as good or better than the m1 dji, particularly for noise. Only downside is aesthetic of the downtube being built to accept the fat 800wh...

2/26/2026 9:08am I'd think that if they released one or two more generations of duds, they'll find themselves losing a bunch of market share. Their target demographic won't stay ignorant forever.

2/25/2026 11:47am Totally depends on use case. My wife and I use our e-bikes for self shuttling parks in BC. More power is better in this case, it gets you to the top of a boring fire road climb faster. And contrary to my own expectations, a 50 pound e-bike is actually faster descending than my best acoustic enduro bike. This is...

2/24/2026 1:13pm It would seem they've lost the plot entirely. Hard to believe that they went from fairly revolutionary designs ( for their time ) like the enduro and kenevo sl, to well polished garbage like the levo 4. Only thing I can think of is that they're running a very long (6 year) design cycle or something. Hopefully they buy a...

2/20/2026 2:04pm Woooo! I've always wanted Maven power with the lever ambiguity of Shimano's wandering bite point! Count me in!
