6/5/2026 8:49am Sure, there are bikes that it is well implemented on and the geometry is preserved between the two settings - The current Ibis Ripley/Ripmo and G3 Kona Process 134/153 and Process X are all bikes that do it well.

5/28/2026 11:05am I feel like photos of this caliper have floated around on here before, but it's a nice close-up. It's paired with an XTR lever... I am really hoping that new Saint brakes are released this year.

5/26/2026 2:26pm Sure looks like it. Seems a little weird for PON to be backing this when their existing wheel brand (Reserve) seems to have made huge headway in the in both aftermarket and OE spec in the last few years. Maybe the One Up wheels are supposed to be a more budget oriented product?

5/24/2026 3:27pm Not sure if I should be proud or embarrassed, but I recently wrote down every bike that I’ve owned (and can remember) in a spreadsheet. Across genres including kid bikes, mountain (DH, XC, Trail), road/gravel, BMX, and dirt jumpers, I have owned 102 bikes. Some of these are just new frames with swapped over parts, but I consider that a different bike for this purpose. I might have a problem. The most bikes by far are BMX (26) and DJ (19), as I was a 6 night a week skatepark kid growing up. I wish my skills were better for...

5/22/2026 2:45pm I have a bud with a similar SST - Lyrik and Vivid coil. He loves it and did the BC bike race on it last year.

5/22/2026 2:43pm I can confirm the REEB SST works quite well with a coil. Did 40+ miles and 9500ft descending last weekend. It would benefit from 440+ stays but overall it rips!

5/18/2026 10:26am I test rode a tallboy 6 over the weekend (5mi / 600' vert). It is really, really good. I have a ht4 that I love and I love vpp for longer travel bikes. I don't miss it on the new tallboy in the slightest. It goes uphill as well as the previous version with more traction when climbing square ledges and loose over hard... and goes downhill easily 30% better then the previous version. It is half way in between the tallboy 5 and my hightower 4 with regards to descending. Honestly, it's so good and so well rounded that...

5/12/2026 4:54pm This is a cool bike and I feel like we should be talking more about it in the "MTB Tech Rumors" thread than the environmental impact of thermoplastics and carbon fibre. I love a simple, metal bike that can take a beating and it makes me think of a RAAW Madonna, but with a shorter rear end. At $3400, it's priced right in between the Madonna R ($2900cad) and Madonna 3.2 ($3900)

5/11/2026 6:30am You can always remove the cable fixing bolt and find the groove/path that Shimano wants you to orient the cable in. That or si.shimano.com and look at the docs.

5/7/2026 1:26pm Yeah this almost deserves it's own thread, Mert is one of THE greats and made a huge contribution to the mountain bike world that most people probably don't realise these days. On Any Sunday still holds up as one of the greatest sports movies ever, and the opening shot of Mert walking down the street with a suit then smash cuts to onboard footage of his flattrack racer is brilliant. RIP

5/6/2026 8:55am my 2 cents after spending some time on the bike is that I really want to spend more time on the bike. A couple anecdotes here: I was surprised at how well it pedalled and the lack of heft that I was expecting after looking at it. After giving it back for a month I had to film on it with no time to get familiar again. First trail was a rapid North Van classic that I have ridden a bunch and I was immediately sending it. It was extremely poppy while still being planted, able to pull for all...

5/1/2026 4:42am You are not wrong. If People For Bikes spent 1/4 as much advocating for safe routes to school as they did lobbying for Ebike access in skeptical communities, the shrinking American bicycle market might be expanding. Instead we seem laser focused on selling stuff to the same 10% of the population over and over again, each time with an extra battery or two.
